The tone of my post was a little cranky, too much lack of sleep recently :crankey:

I mean trivial as in a means to an end. I see being a good person as the end in itself. Present moment over future reward.

Heaven isn't in the afterlife. Heaven can be right here on earth, right now, if we cut the bullshit and start taking things seriously.

I'd rather not get into a religious debate, there's no end to those. Faith and belief can't be argued against. You can google the similarities between jesus and bible stories and ancient mythology/religions, and see paralells too similar to be coincidences. When I read your quote it reminds me of Plato and the self-indulgence and hedonism before the fall of Atlantis:

But, using an island in the middle of bumfuck nowhere isn't a great example.  Illegal weapons have to be brought in across the ocean to reach you if they aren't manufactured there.  Here, in the US, that supply can come from a number of locations.  Both the southern & northern border.
