Blue Mountains Australia
    #26025534 - 05/31/19 08:21 PM (1 year, 8 months ago)

Hi I went for a walk in an area of the Blue Mountains, NSW Australia last week. Winter on it's way. Has been no rain for months.

I have taken lots of pictures of mushrooms and picked them. None of them bruised blue so I did not bring them home for spore prints. I have picked P Cubensis in northern NSW from cowshit and they turned blue immediately. How long should I wait for them to turn blue?

It is an area with lots of introduced radiata pines as well as plenty of eucalypts. The microclimates seem very conducive and there are lots of different mushrooms but none look like subs.

What I would like to know is are any of these indicator species? Meaning am I looking in the right place?

When I feel I have found real subs (when the little bastards turn blue right away) I will do my spore prints take multiple photos and ask for an ID. In the meantime any tips on what these might be? Am I getting warm?

BTW, I can't figure out how to attach muliple photos. Please bear with me. I have uploaded a gallery of 13 photos but I am not sure where they are going to be posted.

OK I think I am just starting to get the hang of things. Fingers crossed. Apologies if pics are too big. I resized them but not enough. Will get a better bulk resize app.

Youve got to copy the link under the uploaded photo (make sure to get everything from that little box) and paste it where you type to make a post and that will appear as your photo once you post it

There's a couple in there that might be subs but none of them really look very hopefully at all tbh

All look like Cortinarious species, there are some deadly species in this Genus.

1, 7 and 8 are Cortinarius rotundisporus, I'm not sure what the rest are, but nothing magical.

Here is my treat. I hope you aren't disappointed. The child in me loves to stand in awe at the wondrous beauty of this planet.

I hope this is the right way to link to another thread. I am still getting the hang of navigating the shroomery. I thought it deserved a thread of its own.
