Re: Is it better to air your feelings for someone out or just remain [Re: Darwin23]

The update no one asked for:

I thought about things and ultimately I’m going to stick to my original decision of not revealing my feelings. To provide a little background context. Him and I were residing in the same apartment complex. So we were seeing each other on almost a daily basis and occasionally we would share meals and we did flirt. But a few months ago he got hired by a company that was a good distant from our current complex (like a 3 hour drive one way) so he moved. Since he’s relocated he’s made minimal or nearly no effort to remain in contact. We would exchange texts maybe once a week but that’s it. So as much as I would love to deny it or chalk this behavior up to something else it’s pretty clear that his feelings for me were probably situational. So me further putting myself out there will only lead to more rejection and heartache.

So though I appreciate everyone’s input the situation has basically resolved itself.

I don't think that means that you would not have been successful had you voiced your feelings whilst you were together. Sounds like it may have been good but you just waited too long?

Us humans can be very 'out of sight, out of mind' about things so it's not altogether surprising he's only made minimal contact since he moved away.

However even the fact that he has tells me that things would have been able to go to the next level, if you had made a move.

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

He may be interested in a relationship, never know. But long distance relationships suck. I dont recommend them.

I view these  situations as a costs benefits analysis. The costs ae generally making one or both of you uncomfortable and jeopardizing your friendship. To assess the benefits you have to draw a conclusion on the likelihood that telling them your feelings will result in making you both happier.

Sometimes I have forged ahead when I though the chances were slim, and I believe you do have to do that sometimes, but in all honesty I don't think it ever ended up well.

you must be able to read if he is into you... only if you see good signs the other person is all into you then dont engage
