could you also tell me what I need to do? I tried to dry some local panaeolus but they turned to mush. Can I still ingest them for the right desired effects?

If they have rottened to the 'mush phase' they're probably past edibility.

Use a dehydrator or as I do, a box fan with directed consistent air movement for 24-48 hours until the specimens are cracker dry. Then you'll want to store them in a air tight container.

If they turned to mush they'd be past gone, the active part of the mushroom is well and truly broken down.

I usually do the same as above, except I also have a fan forced oven that goes extremely low temperatures, so once they feel touch dry from the fan I usually throw them in there on a low temp with the door slightly cracked and the fan on just to get that little extra out of them. Never noticed a huge difference between taking them dried like this and taking them fresh so I assume it doesn't breakdown much if any extra psilocybin etc
