Swirl the jar in a circular motion to stir my hand. If it looks like allot of growth your ready to go.. It should be a pretty thick solution.

I've never seen a liquid become "fully" colonized. If you let it settle and it's 90% myc it's as fine as it'll get. I believe by that point the culture has consumed ask available nutes. But I use 2% malt.... So...

Last night I found at Amazon a stirrer for 29.80 dollars with one magnetic stir bar and free shipping. Now that's a decent price for someone to get started in stirring your LC.

The same stirrer sells for $50 on shroomsupply. I own a couple and so far they are little work horses. My LC lives in a swirling vortex. 😝

You won't be able to get it into a syringe

Why not do it like G2G? My plan is to have a jar of LC and just pour it into receiving jars in front of the flowhood. Actually did it last week and the jars seem to be doing well but did recover a little slow after the shake. I'm definitely trying to learn the why and the how. I don't even have a syringe tho, they are kinda triggers for me so I prefer not to use one but I can see how it useful. It was extremely hard to pour a small amount. So you use a ship or what?

Well, a 16G needle shouldn't be a trigger unless you like to compulsively pierce your nipples or something
If you don't occasionally stir, mycelium can grow into big blobs...or even a single blob. You gotta either stir it or have something like broken glass in jar to break it up when you shake it. I've used a marble in the jar, too.

Cool. Think I'll stick to the marbles. It shouldn't be a trigger go but between the alcohol fumes and the syringes it is. Hate nipple rings but love spoon fulls of dope.

I use broken glass and pour lc's instead of syringe. More direct like you're saying, one less tool/vector.

So how do you know when the LC is ready to use? Got one that I feel confident is clean but not sure if it's fully colonized.

Will it take over all the water and become all myc or am I just waiting for the water to clear up. (which it has become noticably so)

The liquid gets lighter as the myc using up the nutes in it. That looks plenty colonized to use.

i highly advise testing on agar before committing to a shitload of grain. But it does "look clean". How colonized an lc will get has everything to do with how much nutrition is in it and how long you let it colonize. As lotkid said, that looks colonized enough.

i use LC almost exclusively. G2G every now and then and A2G only when testing new genetics.

Only difference between it and G2G is the vector the syringe makes. My LC often sees recovery in under 24 hours.

I have tested it last week. It just took off slowly so I figured it was not quite ready. Honestly I'm just scared I will mess it up trying to test it on agar. How do you test LC that you planned to pour?
