Mushboy.. Do you use leftover lc to expand out to new batches or do you start out with a wedge from a new plate..
I use Josex one poke method allot. To be honest It always turns out to be three pokes or more for me..

no. always start with fresh wedges.
im bias towards honey lc because i tried it a few times and i always failed. plus every noob tries it and its as cliche as prom night acne.

I think i know the answer here but it's worth the question. Josex recommends "one LC, one use, one session." I have a smaller SAB and can load 8-10 quart jars fairly comfortably but no more. I load them through the arm holes, so the top stays on the whole time. Would i be able to noc up the first 8-10 jars, loosely place the lid back on the LC, unload/reload, and noc 8-10 more?

Yea josex probably just meant use the whole jar of LC at once, don't take out half and use it and expect to use the other half a week later. I think that is good advice.

What do you do about breaking up the mycelium for inoculation?

As long as you kept the lid contaminate free there's no problem..

So just shake it? I've always failed with LC, might try again soon.

My success rate is much lower than I'd like, but I can make LC happen. Try with these lower nutes and fewer ingredients, it's a little easier to work with. I almost feel ready to start using tiny wedges to inoculate over a poke!

You don't want to insert anything into the lc jar. What I would do is put the jar on a table/counter and without lifting the jar off the table make some circular motions to stir the lc. By not lifting the lc jar it keeps the lc level low where it won't touch the lid or jar threads.. Some people use glass, I use a Magnet stirrer. Some use marbles. But all inserted before pc cycle.

I just swirl it like it's a wine glass. I'm half tempted to get magnetic stirrers and a stirring plate for no other reason than I think it would look bad ass and super science-y!

I'd highly recommend getting stir bars and making our buying a stirrer. It's not needed but makes the LC grow faster, the myc status in tiny tiny little pieces with no clumps and it's truly set and forget.
You can absolutely use half, reload the SAB, and use the other half. You can even use half, let it sit for a couple weeks and use the other half. Just remember with LC, one wrong move and everything after that goes to shit. I highly recommend getting an LC on agar three or four days before use. Even if it's already been tested and used prior. If it's been sitting long, I test it again.

That's funny!! When I initially started buying stuff, I bought a stirrer. Never have used it, but it looks cool on my work bench!
