:trollcop:

 it's all good. I see what you mean there. I also don't like to have master jars sitting around long either. Makes me all kinds of anxious to see that sitting there unused.

Awesome tek Mushboy.
Just PCed 4, 200ml LCs made with 0.333 grams each of MEA.
Followed TLs like I been doing a few times before.
Then i read this thread now..

You guys use a lot more MEA. Will do next time, Im sure ill get faster colonization.
Will also try and use my media bottles, love to pour from them do will try pouring to grains for my first time. Thanks you guys!

you can use more nutes if you want but the only difference ive seen is in the clarity of the broth and not colonization speeds.

.5ish %  is all it takes for me to go from culture to shrooms:shrug:

why use more if you dont have too? :typing::takingnotes:

Good question. Have you not noticed thicker LC when using more nutes? I'll pay close attention to this test i'm doing and see. I feel like i've seen thicker LC/ more inoculation points per cc of LC/ faster colonization of the grain when using higher nute ratios. I don't know for sure though.

I nocced up for last night at varied ratios so I'll see what happens. maybe I'll document the shit out of it and make a separate thread?

Well, I have two jars going now where I basically dropped the LME to half of what I was using - to 2.5g. Still added my normal 20g of dextrose.
I saw no difference in the amount of time it took to get ready.

I don't know if the dextrose is doing the heavy lifting, though. As much as people like to shit on it, I've had too much success with it to
take it out.

I've  never fooled around with dextrose. Not once. It's always been LME. Maybe I'll throw together a couple dextrose LCs to add to the experiment.

Hmm, 24 hrs and you have a lot of growth?
This LC I'm doing is my first rodeo with LC so I dont know what to expect really but that sounds unbelievable.
Not shit talking.
Is that normal?
24 hrs isnt enough time to see anything in my experience. Mycelium doesnt recover that fast.
Anyone else see major growth after just 24 hrs?
(again, not trying to start something)

Now I want to get my ass home and look at my LC but I figure I wont see anything just yet.

I don't know about "serious" growth, but I can usually see "recovery" within 24 hours. You can see the same thing on grains

Bouta pull a bottle of broth out the PC meow. 1.5g to ~225ml of tap water. Not sure which culture I will use. My Hoogshagenii is spot on, but I'd rather stick to a tried and true mush like my MNAPE. Gotta sort through my cultures while it cools.

Below are the .4 %

and below are the 2%

So, we'll see how and if colonization times differ but it appears that i think what i think because i use more malt. If i do it my way I can avoid all the chunky shit floating around. But really, that shit isn't a problem. It'll get gobbled up just the same.

I did a series of LC tests back in the day and decided i liked 2% because i achieved a much thicker LC. But that was a long time ago. Seems like time for another test. I'll make a thread elsewhere as to not hijack this one.

100% exactly as your tek states, although... Cold is a relative term. It wasn't refrigerated, Just as cold as it can come out of the sink. I believe that I need to heat and mix my LC to avoid this because I'm trying to pack the nutes in as tight as can be. Not sure exactly but this seems logical.... I think

Hey Mush.
I remember reading Josexs poke tek a few days ago and just want to make sure with you and ask you.

Do I understand correctly that you can use the same syringe for different cultures?
Say 4 different plates using the same syringe to poke them with?

In my head it should work because I do not think contams or anything has time or can go up the needle so fast, right?

Flame before each poke no matter what.

But otherwise you are correct. 1 syringe full of sterile water is enough for over 100 pokes:eek:

I love it.
Going to be doing the poke and following your tek in a few days.

Thank you for such a fast replay and just what I wanted to hear haha.
