I don’t think he’s actually thinking about suicide because he has no drugs. What do you think will happen anyway...probably get put on ssri’s or something that will make it worse in the long run.

One thing I can say for psychedelics over other drugs is it’s not a means of escape. It sets you right in front of your problems face on and has you making a decision on how to work round it.

Seek help by all means!

I agree with those here who have recommended seeking therapy. There is something about talking to someone who is professionally trained and who is completely outside our family system (with confidentiality protecting everything you say) that makes it a profoundly unique and valuable relationship. Especially if you feel like a burden to your family (therapists are paid to do their job, you are not a burden but a blessing to them!).

Psychedelics can help us transcend our problems and gain unique insights. But if we fail to integrate those insights into our daily lives (when we're not tripping), then they will only be a temporary escape. Insight oriented psychotherapy can help with that integration process. And you don't necessarily have to tell your therapist about your psychedelic use (although if they are open to it, all the better).

Last bit of advice: if you find a therapist and can't click with them, find another. Good luck OP. Emotional crises can be quite overwhelming, but remember: they also carry the potential for positive transformation.

Worried about you.

I've seen you find so much joy in life for a few months. It's heartbreaking to see that you have lost all that joy. I just hope that you are somehow keeping yourself safe until you are ready to reach out into the world again.

Let me explain;

I don't become suicidal just because I can't get high.

Tripping on mushrooms helps me to make sense of and navigate the world. It helps me to resolve issues and to process my emotions in a reasonable way. They help me to see beauty in so many aspects of life and to completely fall in love with being alive.

This effect lasts 1-2 weeks after the trip. Sometimes up to three weeks.

Psilocin has been the most effective antidepressant/anxiolytic I have ever come across and I've been prescribed up to 20 different meds in the past. (Nearly all of which I'd managed to wean off because of mushrooms and I was the happiest I've ever been)

I had a couple of failed grows which left me without and consequently I have been unable to navigate my way through life in a healthy way.

I've tried therapy countless times and I get nowhere with it. With psilocin I figure out and resolve my own issues. It's like having a counselling session with myself, and it is far more effective.

The biggest benefits come from larger doses of 6+g penis envy.

I should have more mushrooms over the coming weeks. In the meantime however I'm intermittently using xanax and (not at the same time) pregabalin or phenibut to encourage a better mood and reduce anxiety...being careful not to allow for addiction.

Hopefully I'll be back to being in love with life again once I get my crop.

Have you tried therapy after your trips?

Think of the brain like a memory foam pillow. You can have the experience, and temporarily reshape things like one night sleeping on the pillow, but it will spring right back to baseline fairly quickly after. By talking through it, as well as writing down any insights and reviewing them daily, you can start reshaping your brain to your liking permanently, like sleeping on the pillow every night shapes it. Very gradual daily increases that you will likely not even notice day to day, but will become obvious over months and years.

Therapy isn't always just letting things off your chest then feeling better. Being truely open with another human, and better yet yourself, takes tremendous work and effort for most people. I had 5 different therapists and a lot of work to do on myself before I walked out of a session feeling like I was getting somewhere, and the progress has been awesome since, though by no means linear or easy.

SSRI's are bullsh%!. The stronger stuff is also bs. Any type of benzo is probably the dumbest drug you could take. Grow your own dude. They're cheap as hell and fun to do. Look at our shroomery sponsor, sporeworks. Sporeworks have a great selection with fast priority mail shipping. Depression is a bi!%h. If your depressed try meeting someone new or try a FREE dating app like okcupid or something, it works believe me.

Be careful with that phenibut, it will throw acute rebound anxiety at you like I’ve never gotten even from benzos.  It’s no joke, in my opinion it’s a terrible drug and maybe has a use as a 1 time emergency option for sleep but it takes back any peace it gives with a lot of interest almost immediately.  It can’t be good to pair that with xanax.

when terrible things happen to me, the first thing i ask myself is "what can i do to change it so it's not so terrible, and do i consider it worth the effort to change, or is it really not that huge a deal to me at this time?"

if it's something i can change, and i want to change it, then i take the steps needed to do so, and realize that goals are slippery things that take many attempts and failed results before you finally build the mental willpower/physical strength/instincts to accomplish what you set your mind to. the whole saying of "9 times down, 10 times up" applies here.

if it's something i can't change or get help changing...i let it go. there's no point wasting energy trying to change what can't change. i can't change someone else to be something they don't wan't to be, i can't unbreak a precious memento of a friend that i broke, i can't turn back the clock of time. accept these unchangable obstacles as what they are... and flow around them. or over em. or through em. or fold spacetime and jump through the whole mess entirely.  :P be like a river - flow through life, don't bang your head repeatedly on a wall because you can't get past it. you may find that, with time, your constant dodging through obstacles you can't change gets easier, as you wear them down. and if not? you're still going past them, they're not stopping you.

depression is a tricky beast, and one that isn't usually slain in a day. set goals for yourself, ones you can accomplish, and when you o so, move the goalpost further. if you don't get much exercise, try doing so - it's known to help fight depression, as does getting some sunshine an eating healthy. (less ultra-processed foods, more veggies and fruits...don't sweat over organic, non-GMO, superfoods, etc. it's all hype you don't need to worry about. just eat wholesome food, regardless if it's organic or from monsanto's secret greenhouses. )

life sometimes throws you curveballs of shit. but shit eventually can be washed off. you've already done a lot by hanging in there through your difficult situation. now it's time for you to try fighting back, in the ways you can, and waiting for the rest to blow over or you figure out ways to get around it. and if you can't figure a way out of a solution, try explaining it to people you trust and see if they can't find an answer you like.

you're not alone in your journey unless you choose to be.

Great metaphor for the long-term work necessary to make lasting changes in one's self. MrCraggles, I in no way meant to put down mushrooms as therapeutic tools - they're insanely powerful and amazing! I was just trying to get at how can you use the insights they give you to reshape your life, so that maybe one day when don't have them available for several weeks or months, you find that, actually... you're ok. That they're not so necessary on such a frequent basis.

Mushrooms (and psychedelics in general) take us into higher dimensional realms of spirit and knowing - they help us transcend, and to see truth and incredible beauty. And experience ecstasy (not guaranteed). Inevitably, though, we descend back into the material plane, and our physical body, and our old habit patterns and thought patterns, our old relationship patterns, and our same dysfunctional families. These things tend to change much more gradually, and forming new patterns takes repetition. Psychotherapy, journaling, reading, self-help groups, (online forums), goal planning, yoga and meditation, and so forth are all tools that can help with that work.

Many pieces to the puzzle - I'm not saying to replace the mushrooms, just build an ecology of growth tools around them. Get to know the emotional pain you experience, form a relationship with it - and be compassionate toward yourself. Try the Tibetan meditation called "tonglen" - very powerful for cultivating compassion.

Mushrooms destroy my depression. Now they're gone the black demon is back and I'm seriously considering suicide. So much is going wrong. My boyfriend might be going to jail, my family can't cope with my depression anymore and want me out.

I'm totally lost. I'm just crying and crying. I spoke to my psychologist. I'm taking diazepam to calm me but it makes me feel dead inside.

I need help. This has been going on for ten years. I cannot cope with it any more or the pain it inflicts on those I love.

I just give up. I can't do this anymore.

Oh stop it. You can find a substitute or a substrate. AKA grow them.

If mushrooms are the only thing keeping you from suicide that's a major issue man.

For me they don't touch that part of the brain when the mushrooms wear off. But what DESTROYED my depression for 3-4 weeks was one decent line of MXE. I felt like a new man for that time. It's seriously a miracle drug. Now I can't find it and just feel like crap a lot. I'll never forget how refreshed and willing to take on life after that line of MXE.

I tried doing the same amount just about but with ketamine and it didn't do what mxe did. Maybe if I IM'D a big dose it would have worked like the MXE

What did Leary say about psychotherapy? One third get better, one third get worse, one third stay the same? The last time I checked meta-analysis indicates he's correct with psychotherapy being as influenced by publishers bias as anti-depressant drugs, with real effects sizes minimal. That's not to say no techniques work but seeing any professional shrink is an expensive crap shoot at best. It sounds like MrCraggles already got the t-shirt and it sucked

Alright man listen up.
I am capncook and Ive been where you're at.

As you probably know I was on a mushroom binge and spreading toxicity on the forums.
I would watch porn and get possessed by demons on mushrooms. My life became a living hell.
I couldn't go 5 minutes without a fucked up thought popping in my head. I had no passion for anything except psychedelics. And I thought they were the only way I could unfuck myself up.

Until one day I got arrested for tree bark and my mom wouldn't let me grow shrooms anymore. I had to go cold turkey. And ontop of that, admins kicked me off this forum. So now I was forced to leave the psychedelic community, and stop doing them.

At this point pychedelics were the only thing that made me happy, the only thing I cared about. The longer I stayed sober the more I realized how warped my mind was. My ego was starting to rebuild itself, fucked up thoughts were decreasing by the dozens. I also started going to parties and programming again, listening to trap music; being my cool old self.

Then after 4 months of no psychedelics, my next grow was ready. I tripped again and found God. Now I space out my trips to at least a month. Went from hellish life to heaven life. And that break I took was the most important part.

Your story may be different from mine, but just know, there's always more :mushroom2: where that came from.
Best thing you can do is take some time off dem shits and find yourself and then God.
