A kitchen knife. Cut through Don't saw. If you gotta saw sharpen or buy a new knife.

Anything serrated or sawing will just chew up the plastic wrap make it all dicked up

Ive tried a scalpel(sucked) hacksaw(ehh) and utility knife, that's my favorite right now. I was against cling wrap at first, but fuck spending all that money on parafilm.

The pex/pvc cutter that's HDX brand by home depot. Don't buy that pile of shit. Just a PSA

I'm going to guild the Lily here and suggest slipping a length of PVC pipe INTO the roll and using the PVC cutter without collapsing the tube.

That is smart af, I was thinking of trying a fine knife on the oscillating tool someday here.  I'm trying to scarf threw dinner so I can try the pex cutter, Fuckin Bod, Still cracks me up, the fucking blinds/curtain lady at menards... "I never had anyone ask me to cut cling wrap before, seems kinda odd. lol.

I just cut some yesterday for the first time and used one of those flip-open utility knives. It's hard work, kind of scary, and tends to make a spiral cut. Probably won't do it that way again. A patch of fingerprint is already gone from using that knife.

Ive gone mad, to expand on this I suggest also sleeving the saran wrap on the outside with larger PCV as well. Now the cutter wont crush the tube on the inside or press on the wrap itself. End thread.

Large bread knife or the miter saw. Miter saw is faster.

no its not.  used to do that.  bought a pvc cutter this morning.  amazing!  it lines the cut up better too;)  soo glad I saw this this morning.  didn't even have to do a search!

I use that Press'n'seal gladwrap thing. Its a pain in the ass to cut. Its stretchy, and not as tightly wound so any serrated blade makes a mess and its resistent to cuts. The tube will collapse and bend too easily too. Best result Ive had so far in cutting off sections is from hammering a kitchen axe through it on a cutting board.

Ill probably switch back to the usual saran wrap next. I like Press'n'seal, its probably the closest thing to parafilm, but not worth the hassle IMO. Also, it seems like I burn through at least 1/3 roll every 8 plates or so.

besides the fact that it works,  the pvc cutter is a much safer alternative than a knive IMO/IME.  I have lots of sharp knives in my kitchen and have sliced up many 500 pk's worth of cling wrap.  that shiiit gets sketchy.  so yesterday as Im midway thru a roll and am like fuck this.  jump on this site and wha-bam!  pvc cutter... an Im never going back

For sure, I hate to admit it but, first when I heard of people using cling wrap I figured I would try it. I didnt even think of cutting the roll up, lol. I tried just wrapping the whole plate. I made such a mess, spazzed, and swore it off. Trying to cut the roll gave me quite troubles as well. I was too proud to ever ask about it. I'm just a little bit smarter now. Lol.
