Vicks

Just hook one end up the the chamber and the other to the cool mist with these and that way you can just unplug the hoses when it's cleaning time. Better then unglueing a bunch of stuff.

They don't have it at wal-mart. None of those are a cool mist.

Funky set up but I'm sure it worked. I use the ultrasonic and cool mist. Very firm believer in air exchange.

In the exectrical Dept of the hardware store I find these. and on the ultrasonic Now on the back of the closet I cut the holes for the hose fittings and put tape over them and cut holes threw the tape for the fittings. The reason for the tape is to give the clostet plastic a little extra strength when holding the hose weight. The outlet for the ultrasonic goes above the cool mist outlet that way the mist from the ultrasonic drops into the airstream of the cool mist and mixes better.

No, the wick isn't going to work for what you need.

I think I have a good idea of why they are a bad idea to use in your fruiting chamber. I haven't read anywhere in any of the teks why not to ,they just say don't use one with the wick so I understand your frustration. I bought a Holmes cool mist with a wick to use just for general humidification of the air in my house and after a while I noticed a funky sort of mildewy smell coming from the damn thing. The problem seems to lie in the wick itself. Even though I ran it consantly so the water was constantly being exchanged the filter grew a nasty black mold on it and this would probably be even worse if you had it running into an enclosed space like your chamber. I guess I could have just started a ritual of soaking the freakin filter in a dilute bleach solution every couple of days ,but I said "to hell with that piece of shit", and bought an ultrasonic instead which has made me mush happier due to its being a much cleaner operation. So the jist of this IMO is to keep that germ breading, mold growing thing as far away from your mushies as possible! I decided to salvage the fan unit from the Holmes unit so all is not lost. It is a perfect fan for a gentle air circulation in your chamber. Just pack that bitch with polyfill where the wick used to be and you got a nice ,clean air flow!!

I here ya on that one! If one decides to get into this hobby with a genuine interest in the persuit of perfection it seems that ,for a while at least, you are single handedly keeping Walmart stock climbing up and up!! I think they have teamed up with Home Depot in a devious plot to suck my wallet dry!! It seems only fitting that they should become a Shroomery sponsor and give all of us members huge discounts. -=====Attention all shoppers we have a blowout sale in aisle four;the mushroom cultivation section!!!!

Domey, I got a ultrasonic from wal-mart. It is a Reli On as well. It's got variable output and direction mist control slot on top that closes perfectly around 7/16od 5/16id vinyl hose. I like it very much...
