fucked up a weeping willow pretty good, a couple red oak trees and many pine trees. I might rent a mulcher and prune up some more oak and mulch it all. Isnt oak good for cult? (i wanna say it is without looking it up). I'd have to get me some some azure spores or some other good wood lover mushies. I've only ever fucked with cubes before.

Oak is good... any hardwood will work... oysters and reishi are fun wood lovers too

Pretty much everything will grow on oak and/or willow. Oak will break down slower and give more flushes though.

Can't sleep. Going to open up these spawn bags and put this pan Hawaiian into some trays. Maybe transfer some zap.

Going to take tomorrow off and hopefully by Monday I won't want to punch my co-worker, Brian, in the face.

Got a decent bit of work done tonight!
Poured a sleeve of petris and knocked some up with 4 varieties of cubes, plus I spawned my first ever Pan Cyans to a few shoeboxes. All under the cover of darkness.

Very nervous/excited for the pans. I really hope they work out! :mushroom2:

New to this thread, can't sleep either tonight.  Loads of SAB transfers done and now PC'ing some grains.  Great midnight hobby.

Just passed midnight and I'm waiting on some dishes I just poured to cool. I stepped out to post here and smoke a bowl.
Really digging this beer agar.

I'm at a point where I need to figure out a good 10 day stopping point where I can trust nothing needs to be done and I'm not fruiting. This vacation is quickly coming up.

Watching the midnight grain... last test batch of "Caps' no bs WBS prep(less) master pints"... running 15, behind yesterday's 10... I've narrowed ratios and cook times and am almost satisfied to share it with the world... I've taken a total of 6 batches of 4 and 2 of 10 through at least one round of G2G, probably 4 or 5 blue oyster cultures through 2 G2G cycles... I've fruited nearly 2 dozen boxes, close to half having gone 2+ flushes... one pint to one bag to one brick to one box... Also coming soon: "Caps' SOS's (Shoeboxes On Steroids)"... not quite midnight, but ill be here for the duration lol

Just made the mistake of putting to much red food coloring in my agar.  Apparently what they say about red #40 being toxic has some merit.  Everything I put on those plates was slowly dying (all 16 of them.)

I made new plates and transfered everything so my fingers are crossed.  Granted I used about 8 drips of food coloring cause I was going for that deep red color.  Never again though!  Only 2-4 drops from now on and I'll probably not use anything with red #40 again.

Had a problem with myc growth on my last batch of plates, either too much gentamiacin or mold meshed in with all my cultures... Waiting on my 930 to hit 0psi to start the countdown til I start pouring plates

I had some plates that looked totally clean but i guess still had some hidden mold or something. Oh well, back to the drawing board. No biggie. More plates!

I used food coloring once. It got on my shirt and I said "fuck this never again" I don't get the point. Seems like just another thing to keep up with and if it's true that it killed your cultures then extra fuck that.

Doing a batch of no pour plates now.
4 out of 5 of my last plates had contams. It's what I get for bumping k before working.
Making 12 plates this time. Will refrain till afterwards. :igor:

Need to remember to order some regular agar powder for water agar :strokebeard:
