Fungus Gnats - Still ok to consume the fruits?

Ok so I’ve recently encountered fungus gnats in my tubs for the first time. Soon I will have a period of time when there is nothing actively fruiting, hoping they will go away then. Where do they come from?!

They first appeared in 4th-5th flush tubs of different varieties. I just tossed those substrates ASAP after finding the gnats. I hadn’t seen any in a few days and thought I was clear. Then the other day I noticed a single gnat in one of my 4 APE tubs (3rd-4th flush). Now it’s been 2 days since then and there’s several gnats crawling all over the sub.

My question is do people really harvest and consume fruits like regular when they’re in a tub infested with fungus gnats? It just seams kinda gross/unsanitary or like harvesting from a sub infested with bugs could potentially cause them to spread in your grow area more?

I’ve not had a single incidence of any green molds in about a dozen shoeboxes I’ve been spawning since March. I’ve been battling what I believe to be bacteria,  a white competitor mold, and now these gnats!

I've never delt with them before but I couldnt imaging that they would effect the fruits to the point that u couldn't eat them. I would definitely remove those tubs from your grow room tho. Obviously wait for some other to chime in too. Good luck!

Alright yeah there’s plenty of good looking fruits that I don’t wanna toss. They look healthy too

It's fine to eat the fruits. Get a load of fly strips and position them tactically around the area.
