ID request: Little Brown Mushroom

Please help me Identify the following. Thanks in advance.



Habitat: On ground near river in wild grass. Boise is in the high desert, but near the creek there is a moist microclimate. And we've had tons of rain the past few days. There is livestock in the area (I see recently disturbed ground) and someone told me they saw sheep, but I didn't see any. Possibly cattle in area...

Gills: Young specimen light gray, older specimen darker gray, brown/black after sitting for a day

Stem: Whitish, hollow, thin <1cm

Cap: ~1 inch, started off brown, after sitting for a day it turned pale. I notice some black veil remnants on edge, see pic.

Spore print color: See image, looks black but maybe dark purple/black

Bruising: no noticeable bruising

Location: in the foothills near Boise Idaho

Thanks! I was leaning towards that genus. How did you rule out Panaeolus? Is it because it wasn't growing on/near dung?

It's most likely growing off rotted wood underneath

Mostly because of the veil remnants forming whitish patches on the cap, as well as hanging from the cap margin (blackened by the spores).
