Quick update, first flush looks promising so far. Ready to harvest in a day or two I guess.

Nice man! Congratulations.
I would chop the left one down, over half of the fruits are wide open.

Thanks, yeah I will do that later this evening.
The bigger box (right) is a bit slower, will wait a day longer or pick the biggest fruits that opened already today, and the others tomorrow.
With past grows I noticed that mycelium feels when fruits are picked. As soon as the mature ones get harvested the small ones also open up their cap within a few hours only.

Mind as well chop them all tonight and do the soak at the same time.
I’ve never really noticed but it might be because your sub has used up all its water. No more water = no more growth

I tried this and i didn't mist or open it for 20 days but it dried out. I went ahead and misted it. If i followed your instructions exactly if I understand correctly I should be able to not worry about it until the first flush right? It was growing amazing the first week and currently about 80-90% colonized under the surface. The surface seems to be about 10-20% covered on top. I went ahead and misted it and starting to keep the conditions optimal and making sure i see tiny droplets on the parts that did surface.
Has anyone else gotten by without misting before the first flush?

This time of the year I never have to mist till after the first flush.
You won’t see droplets on the surface until your top layer fully colonizes.

Okey so the other box is just doing fine so i guess iam a bit happy again after the failure with mold in the other
But how come the fruits is so ultra small? They are not larger than a matchstick? Is it just genetics since they are from a MSS? Or is it bad FAE/misting? I dont think its the moister since the box have nice droplets on the surface of the box. And i have open the lid to let FAE in.

Looking a bit better today - it’s very humid here in late summer and I’ve started leaving lids off during the day. There’s still plenty of moisture beading on the surface. If the surface were to start to look dry, is it ok to mist when fruits are this developed or should I bottom water (which I plan to do once the flush is over)? I have it in my head that I shouldn’t be misting fruits.

I'm having an issue with my top layer of coir wanting to colonize.i think it's just a humidity issue so I've been misting as it looks dry. I'm on day 21 it's still not colonizing on top.the spawn seemed slighly bacterial. I'm hoping it's not dead. Still smells like fresh mushrooms.

I have a strange one. This is my first grow. Standard PF Tek used. Inoculated 44 days ago. Growth normal for the first 2-3 weeks. Then, it appeared to slow or stall on certain portions on the sides of some of the cakes. I just let them be. They are in a cabinet with temps at 72F. They have started to develop pins even.
Since this seems to be on the high end in terms of the time it’s taking, I took a closer look today and can see when rotating them slowly that the cakes have shrunk and what I am seeing when I look at them straight on, is BRF that stayed stuck on the sides giving me the impression that the cakes have not colonized fully when it appears like they have perhaps several weeks ago?
I did not post a pick because it’s kind of hard to take a pick showing the cakes shrunken away from the glass and the remaining BRF on the glass.
It’s kind of hard to describe but I hope this would solicit some feedback on whether or not I can move forward with casing? Also, if I do case, does it matter that they have small pins when I grate them?
Thanks in advance from a newbie!

here are my shoe boxes! I spawned on feb 18th, the one with the most myc is PE and the others are burma, I love looking at the growth each day. I'm pretty sure it's too moist in there so i unlatched all the boxes for some fae.

Looks great, especially the middle row of pics I’m assuming are PE with the casing. You should get some nice shrooms.
Only small suggestion I have is to try and level it more next time, other than that looks like you nailed it.

Peat verm lime is best. I would probably go with just verm if you can’t get peat or jiffy 5050 mix.
