Looks like some metabolites.  Which means it may be bacterial

Looks good to me, hard to tell if there’s metabolites from the pic but you should be seeing pins anyday now if everything is ok . I’m only a Noob too tho so don’t take my word for it lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

Way to wet in there Ark.. but not completely lost yet.
If you are misting, stop doing that and crack the lid.

Evaporation of surface moisture is a pinning trigger. :awesomenod:

Thanks gang for the replies.

I think some grains might of been left exposed that might explain my "cotton balls".

I have a high humidity in the house this is just the tubs no mist but I cracked the lids last night to release moisture.

Thanks again guys I'm anxiously awaiting pins. Cant wait to update results!

Exposed grains aren’t usually a problem. Some people don’t even use a top layer.
You might want to wipe the lid too, all that dripping condensation doesn’t help.

Overall not bad for your first box!

Thanks man I'll definitely wipe it down.
I'll make the changes now but..
I probably ran this too wett the whole time but I'll learn for the next time more FAE.

I guess I should of said first grow this was just the box that made me second guess myself.

Heres my crew all but 1 are from a local strain that I harvested and printed.

1 box is APE that was given to my by a traveler.
He just had agar cultures on hand... I know wild but I was greatful none the less.

Thanks again for the help

First try, day 14

Some pins appeared yesterday already, but today they seem to show up all over the place.

So far the results are amazing, given that I did not really weigh anything but instead mixed spawn with coir and water by instinct.

Very easy tek.

Maybe ill take what u said here and do it my own?
My boxes are getting wet and have drops all over the lid.
The boxes have been going on for 9 days now. And as you can see before in the picture they are going slow.

I unlatched the lid of one of the boxes and gonna let it get some some more FAE.

I read that somewhere and can't find it, to case at 100%.
Anyway, this thread must be the camp of
  1. Case at spawning
and I suppose there's another camp which feels
  2. Case at 100%  colonization
and
  3. Don't case at all.

So which camp is larger?
Which way is more popular or successful!

Personally is I like the idea, because I haven't even done it yet,
of casing with the coir that has already been prepared right away and be done with it. (Lazy man)
Which camp are you peeps in?

Will do. Yeah it's really fun to watch.
This is my first real grow from spores, I always used growkits before (they always did a great job, though are a lot more expensive than this).

I'm surprised by the big white overlay that grew in my boxes. Most other pics here don't show that much overlay.

Yours look too drenched /wet. There's way more water in there than in most other boxed shown here. That's all I can say. Good luck!

Well done you should drop growkits for good now when it seems like you got the hang of it.
Yeah i know, probably my coir that was to wet
Anyhow we will see if it helps when i unlatch the lid in one of them.
Thank you :awesome:

I couldn't leave anything open here.

Yeah I cased right after mixing the substrate. A small layer of coir only. Then I put the trays directly into fruiting conditions.

Took 5 to 6 days till full colonisation, a week longer till first small pins appeard, now I'm at day 17.

I know Amazonas PES is not the fastest growing variety. But they are comming. Slowly but steady.
