I want to hunt in central New Jersey

I want to try going mushroom hunting but I don?t know where to look for a decent location. So far I know both Psilocybe Cubensis and Psilocybe Graveolens grow in my area.
Psilocybe Cubensis grows on both cow and horse manure, so I tried looking on the web for different farms in my area. I couldn?t find anything nearby, most of the farms were in northern new jersey. If I did manage to find a farm, wouldn?t hunting there be considered trespassing?
I couldn?t find any information on Psilocybe Graveolens.
What do you guys think I should do?
Thanks, ShroomNoob03

They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion. -Carl Sagan

If u want to locate farms, go to a website that is for arial maps and u have to put in like ur zip code, and u can see everything around you, you should be able to find some farms that way

P. cubensis of any kind are not known to grow in New Jersey as far as I know so if you find any, you might be the first ever. Just because they grow on Cow/horse/sheep dung doesn't mean that they grow everywhere that this dung is present. You need high temps and high humididty but as I said, keep us posted if you find any.

that FAQ needs to be fixed a little...
there are definitely no cubes in New Jersey except for someone's closet.
try looking for liberty caps... i'd say thats your best bet in the northeast, lots of cow pastures!!

Central new jersey huh?haha I used to live in northern New Jersey-in Highland lakes. Fuck the shrooms-you all got BLACK BEARS running around them hills man!lol,I just about died when I walked upon one(about 600lb's)that was in my trash!I about "chit" all over myself! After that -I moved! I dont know about mushrooms up there but I do know about the bears! Watch out for the bears man! Psilocybe Cubensis does not grow in New Jersey unless its in someone's home-or an outdoor patch that has been planted after the last frost. The other I dont know about.

Definately not.. I'm in central PA, amidst farmland, and if they grew in jersey, they'd grow here and I'd be happy.
But I do have a question, too. Far as I've been able to find, there's only 2 psychoactive shrooms that grow around here (well, 3, if you want to count amanitas too.. i do).. big laughing gyms, and blue-foots.. and they're both (all 3) i believe, more of a late summer / fall type mushroom. Someone mentioned liberty cap.. so I'm going to check on that, but I thought that was pacific NW.. eh, memory's spotty.. but are there any others, maybe with an earlier season, that I've not been able to find?

I see lots of prime Lib cap habitat. Like marshey damp fields with big clumps of sedges growing. I just think no one has ever looked in these areas for them. Jersey is probably a very over looked state for alll its flora and fauna.

I have updated that FAQ. I removed Psilocybe cubensis and added Gymnopilus spectabilis.
Happy mushrooming!
