Update.

Now being unbanned and talking to some of the admins and seeing first hand.

The difference in volume is huge. Between the .org and fb.


Thus alot more idiots. This also goes hand and hand with access.

I can upload way faster to fb than .org.

Easier to make a mistake on fb where the .org its more thought out.

The facebook is.more of a rely for the .org. they cast slight quick advice and then are generally directed here.

I dont see anything wrong with that.

Imo this is just like weed 20 years ago where.its kinda just starting to get into the open.

The Facebook group is child's play compared to here. It's Facebook. People arguing and always trying to one up each other. A lot of shaming on folks who have little to no knowledge as if those who have knowledge in this world left the womb with it. I saw noted above the sense of community here. Blows anything on Facebook out of the water. I hardly open Facebook since joining the official site. I feel welcomed here as I'm sure most other newcomers do

I loved the face book group but I hated Facebook so I deleted my account and came here. I got to say I miss the ID posts there tho, they IDed every single mushroom my 5 year old found in the yard last year.  Ass hats are abbundant everywhere and they are extra assy on social media. Take it with a grain of salt and just scroll/enjoy the pics no need to even comment. My wife has it on her phone I may use it this summer while hunting edibles. That said I never felt a part of the Facebook page. All I wanted was people to Id my mushrooms.  Here I want to be a part of something. I want to give back. Make friends, chat with people, and be social. Social media makes me want to pretend to be myself which is unhealthy.  The fact that the org is anonymous allows me to totally be myself without hesitation which is what we should all strive for in life.

Every FB group is ridiculous. Even the 3d printing groups on FB are atrocious. Idk something about FB :shrug:

The goal for the group is to get them to better resources aka here,we certainly don't heat around the bush and will ban for next to nothing because its just fb so no fucks given  its something only fb is getting paid for.
If I'm drunk and think u look like an assface I will likely just boot u n move on with my day, it's too high traffic for anybody to be missed lol.
There are some great people there though with lots of knowledge all around but the platform itself is not designed to work well with teaching unlike here at the mother ship.

facebook is a joke period. I can't understand why people use that crap I've never had an account and never wanted one. theres enough bullshit on internet forums, why would I want to look through that bullshit as a past time? I just use forums to try to get information, most of the time unsuccessfully because people are jerks

I was pretty involved with Facebook and many of the groups there.  I am weaning myself from the entire platform for several reasons.

#1. Is the shutting down of posts by Facebook itself or just random user's reporting posts.  This is getting worse and the new rules and settings are tracking "community standard violations"

I did meet some cool people there and that's why I stayed on as long as I did.  I guess I'll just stay here on .org now.:grin:
