Nice Hi-Res for you.
Should be done with the first flush by this weekend. Still trying to learn this strain on the flatcakes, seems like it wants to pin towards the edges too much to get a real nice even first flush like I'm able to with the Malabars.
3 half-pints were used. I'm expecting around 160 wet grams from this one, first flush.
I again used 1 colonized half pint, mixed with 2 uncolonized.
I think I may have some overlay on the top however, due to the non-pinning locations. Never have really had that problem with BRF, but I guess there's a first time for everything.
Keep in mind, there is no casing layer, it's double end cased with straight verm while incubating, then scraped/dunked/coldshocked, and placed into the fruiting chamber.
The container is 6x6, substrate is 1.75" thick.
Please don't give me any shit about placing directly onto perlite. I do this for all my first flushes, and I see gains of 20% increases of weight per normal PF TEK half-pints. Still experimenting with flatcakes, but I'm assuming they are the same. At least so far.
I may have the perlite TOO LOOSE under the flatcake though, that may explain the excessive side pinning without too much action going on up top.
Oh well, just wanting to give you guys pics. Just to let you know, even for the REALLY GOOD results, there are sometimes where you just don't get exactly what you were after.

Here's a pic from about 8-10 hours later. Might not get the first flush off before Monday. We'll see.
Just hitting the light cycle today, they should really blow up by tonight. Expect another update later.

Light cycle = Regular cool white fluoro, on about 14hours a day, off 10. Lots of light in the room regarless though.
It's ready to pick, I'm gonna let these caps get a bit bigger.

Done. 224grams wet, after being cleaned, and sitting on the paper towel for a half hour.
These did a bit better than I thought, not many abhorts at all (these flatcakes seem to not make abhorts, which is nice), and the shrooms were quite dense.
Average "big" shroom was between 5-8 grams.
The lighter in the pic is 3" tall.
However, the flat cake has a nasty blue-green tinge all around it, I saw it after the pins started to form. I don't want contams going around my area (haven't had any in about 9 months), so I'm gonna toss it to the outdoor area. I wish I could have seen what these strain does on other flushes.
I think I'm going to stick with this strain on flatcakes, MAYBE moving onto KS. We'll see.
I have another "top" view shot, but I ran out of space.

Good deal, I'm not a huge fan of bulk, and flatcakes make way "nicer" fruits than cakes.
I've found regardless of strain, the double end casing "thing" I do while incubating is key. Just be sure to scrape most of it off before the dunk/cold shock.
Results like this are easy to duplicate.
