compost.. cased/uncased
    #2599288 - 04/24/04 10:14 PM (19 years, 11 months ago)

I'm going to give high mountain compost a shop. Hoping for more yeild and better potency. I've seen the high mountain guy say you don't need to case the compost. So my question, would there be a big difference in yeild if I were to do quart size cakes of the compost or bags. Or even spawned it into a bin and let it fruit uncased like the old dung brother kits? do i have to worry about overlay or anything if i dont case the compost??

Yes, you still need to worry about overlay, Just
fruit as you would a casing (same surface colonisation)

**edit*      nm i get you now.  So if i decide not to use a casing layer you say fruit as i would a casin. *same surface colonization*    that part i dont understand.  I assume your talking about if i were to spawn myc into a bin of compost and fruit it uncased

Again though could i spawn  some myc to quart jars or oven bags filled with compost and fruit them as giant cakes in a terrerium??

should i just give up and go with the common teks?  bin of compost cased with 50/50 coir or similar?

thanks for the help  :crazy2: :nut:

Well, compost works better in tubs than as cakes, i would stick to tried and tested methods, but maybe you could do an experiment with cakes.

ok..  Ill do that then.  I figure ill do like a 15lb tub.. or two 7.5s so to not lose it all in one shot.

then ill make up a few compost balls ill fruit as cakes and see what happens.  ill make a post about it a few months from now to let everyone know what happened..

thanks loki
