Sounds like a living hell.  Has anything helped? Does it seem related to any specific life circumstance?

What sort of pain is it? Like emotional pain? Psychological pain? A pain that you feel worthless or something?

It’s emotional feelings of loneliness, rejection, etc and I’ve tried very hard to turn things around. Doing hobbies, going to the gym, stepping outside my comfort zone still things remain the same.

Rejection is rough.  We're socially wired animals.  Feelings of isolation are crushing.

How do you experience the thoughts running through your mind?  Critical, judgmental, compassionate, understanding?  Also, I wonder how your psychedelic adventures go.  I imagine a lot of what you describe could manifest in them.

Do you have a job, a home? If your lonely maybe you could get a pet? I'm not depressed and my life has gone pretty shitty. But as long as you aren't in horrible pain or sentenced to life in prison things can be that bad. Maybe join tinder and start fucking random bitches. I know I would if I was single and depressed.
You mentioned you tried going to the gym? How often do you go to the gym? It may be difficult at first to go to the gym. But I have found exercise is pretty much required to remain healthy and happy.

I hear that. Exercise is the best antidepressant in the world. IMO.

Sad truth is you are responsible for your own life. You need to stop dwelling on the bad things and go do something about it. If you're currently taking drugs/alcohol then stop. Start learning a new hobby whether its fishing or playing guitar or going hiking. Whenever your mind gets in a rut, exercise.

The biggest thing is stop playing the victim card. There's always someone who has a worse life out there, so seize the moment and make it good. Great things come with patience.

Take care

i tried slicing my neck with a razor when i was depressed and on xanax and alcohol... i wouldnt suggest it...

shrooms should help depression if giving in the right environment and mind set.. like "i want to get better i want to realize why im depressed" and take em

i tried to hang my self too on the fucking xanax and alcohol... man im so lucky i didnt kill my self... the belt i used snapped and i fell down...

i was starting to lose conciseness ...

depression sucks i am manic or some shit... you know what really helped me was reading books, listening to audiobooks, and anime lol... also staying busy... i got a little jon boat im fixing up so i can fixh... i have depression if i can get out and fish these rivers that should help me.. also exercise!

the truth is you have to beat it yourself no one can help.
the way you feel when your 30 will be completly diff then the way your feeling when 22.. same at 40 and so on... my depression has matured over the years and i can kind of cope with it..

It’s funny how you say depression changes overtime. When I was in my 20s depression was mostly background noise I kept telling myself eh things will improve. Now that I’ve hit my 30s it’s been downhill. I’ve had to accept the harsh reality that this is it, all that my life will be. Slicing your neck is pretty hardcore I would want it quick and easy.

I definitely agree with that An #10. When u reach this sort of thinking, where nothing has meaning, u gotta do some dramatic. Something big. Or you will just be stuck in that moment of feeling worthless.

That's easy enough to say but if you have real depression the best you can do is temporary distractions. It always comes back to "yeah, I don't want to do this anymore." It doesn't get better, you can makw it look different or try to ignore it. Maybe there are methods to make those things easier, but don't get the impression that depression is something necessarily fixable. Real depression that is. Imagine people saying "Your bipolar just needs some perspective! You may be schizo but have you tried meditation? PTSD? Mushrooms will clear that right up!" Because they do. And the sentiment is no different for those with real depression. I say real because I've had at least one psychedelic and sleep deprivation induced psychosis episode yet I don't go to my doctor telling her I'm crazy. It was a situational episode. If I said that stuff to a person with real mental health issues I'd hope they would roll their eyes and consider me an attention seeker were I to insinuate I have some clinical issue. It doesn't go away. You just learn to cope. The problem with depression being that having to cope makes it worse, like a crazy person only making themselves crazier by trying not to be crazy. So it's not as easy to say "make changes," not they won't help. It's just the crushing inevitability that is a depressed persons mind that will eventually make any progress as worthless as anything else. To be depressed you need to make yourself at home at square one. It's basically like playing Dark Souls with only the first bonfire.
