Where did you meet your trip-friendly friends? 2

Hey peeps!
If you're in your 20s and have lots of friends to trip with, enjoy this time of your life. I remember, but nobody told me to enjoy it or why!
If you're more in the 40+ realm, what kinds of activities do you take part in that occasionally result in you finding new trip-friendly but still professional/respectable friends who are around your level of age and experience?
I'm not looking to make friends with my neighborhood dealer but it would be nice to talk to some intelligent locals while enjoying fractals together.
Thanks for your stories!

Small festivals have hooked me up with a few good people. But yeah, many older trippers never tell so you'd never know. I'm a lot like that.

Most people stop using them after their 20's. They get more difficult to deal with as you get older. I think the mind can only handle so much when it comes to these substances. Even the greatest psychedelic users in history kind of slowed down or stopped using as they got older. People use them for so many years and learn from them then they kind of move on to something else in life. I know a few older people that trip but its usually for a spiritual experience and they only do it once in a while.

festivals/raves/gigs with friends to meet mutual friends is usually the way to go. I made some good friends with some psychonauts @ college/university as well and it just goes on from there really.

Same here, raves/festivals/concerts.
Met some friends from the Shroomery. Good times. Its a rare thing in my experience. But once you find it, its magical.
And my friend from childhood is into psychs and other drugs, so that makes it easy

I met all of my friends in AA originally. Sounds bad, right? But no, these people are into mushrooms for working on heavy duty trauma, PTSD, anxiety, etc. Mushrooms are a part of their recovery. They do a lot of other work, too (meditation, holotropic breathwork, etc). All of us are in our early to late 40's.

That's awesome. Shrooms can be therapeutic for sure.
I was once in Drug Rehab for growing weed. Met some fun people but I was the only shroomer. The closest was a guy who sold XTC.

It's my experience that people start procreating more than anything.
At mid-40, my trips are EASIER to deal with than they were when I was in my 20s.
I just don't have the big social groups I had in my 20s when I was on the tail of my school days, and unfortunately I live in an area that doesn't come up with ANY hits when I search for psychedelic clubs or psilocybin groups.
Some places have meetup groups dedicated to it! I'm envious

Yeah, I turn 45 this year, and my trips have never been more helping, or better.

40 is getting closer and I feel like I am really cruising, if not getting into heavier trips. I just did my heaviest lsd trip the Saturday before last. I trip with my wife old friends and friends through my summer job. Even my boss wants to try it sometime soon, I think he sees how it helps with our lives. Mostly though I go it alone either on a river lake or beach, fishing or tending a fire.

I just tripped today on cactus (mescaline) post below.
for the age, I will be 64 next Monday, so I was out of tripping for.....40 years or more. So I grew up the hippie era in the late 60's early 70's. so at that time, I took really strong acid. Even my sister tripped on a Purple Haze acid, and freaked.
the acid at that time was really good. I did take 2 white microdot hits, and this acid was as they say, 450ug per hit. This was so fucking terrible, I stopped tripping for the next 40 years, until I discovered the Shoomery.
here I am. So now I am really big on phen type psychdelics mescaline, 2c-e, 2c-p. etc. actually I have some 4-aco-dmt and I would dose on top the mesc trip, took it on.
The last time before the hiatus of no tripping, I had to maintain an even keel. The last trip before the hiatus, I was in the navy and I ate a fucking shit load of those pans, and I drank a bunch of shroom tea. The last thing I know, we were in a playboy club,
a playmate was whipering into my ear and i didnt know what she wanted==i think she wanted to take me home with her.
at that point i didn't know what to do. Well fuck me to the death, i should have known this. all after first cruise in asia area told me what to do.
actually in the asia sphere, you have to do a gender check when picking up a girl.
that is about all. In fact, i dont smoke weed, because it makes me really anxious and paranoid. and the psyches dont bother me a bit.

I am an electrical engineer, and I went to china a lot. That is one of my old GF.

Man, I had no idea there were so many people in the program using psychedelics. I met a therapist in New Mexico who sponsers like 10 guys and they all do ayahuasca together once a year in Taos. I guess it's a thing. I hope so, because I want to hang with these people

I didn’t /: Where I’m at specifically in the world is different and not many are into it ... at least not for the same things I’d be into it for lol....
In fact the only guy I ever met that I was “tripping friends” with went crazy and tried to kill me lol

Wow lol that's awesome! I actually left the program (I still believe in a lot of their principles) after some years clean because I began to smoke cannabis and take psychedelics but when I left it turned out that a number of my acquaintances shared similar thoughts, beliefs, and lifestyles around psychedelics.
