CONCERT POSTERS AT EST's.
    #25989953 - 05/13/19 01:44 PM (4 years, 10 months ago)

OK, so I'm in a snarfs and they have all the concert posters on one wall. I happen to collect those and will get them whenever I can. I'm waiting on my sandwich and notice a corner of one detached. Look closer and they are stuck on with that tacky stuff that doesn't rip them. I got a couple of really good ones. There was a younger gentleman sitting right at a table in front of this wall.

I said him "those were easy to get off there" to which he replied in an iritated and discerning and really disgusted look "WHAT?!" To which I said, "I collect these", and he then said to me in a really rude way "that's kinda' rude!" to which I replied, "yeah, I agree, that is KINDA' rude". Nothing else was said by me or him. I continued to keep them in my hand and wait for my sandwich.

I have talked to a guy hanging those up in another place and it's not a paid service by either party, just an agreement to let them hang them in there. I also asked the guy for some and he said "sure, grab what ever you like, no problem". Also that same place said I could have the ones that the date of the show has already passed.

Is it rude for me to have taken them? Is it rude at all in a bar or restaurant to take them when you like them? Is it stealing? I felt really strange that this was in issue with this person. Are there any opinions on this really stupid and trivial matter?

It's only rude if you don't go to the concert in question.

If it's already passed the date, free game.

I collect the really good art type ones and could never go to every single show of the ones I collect. Sometimes I don't like the band or wouldn't go see them, but the poster is really neat/artsy. Hmmm, interesting you say it's rude I don't go to the show I collect the poster on. I'm interested in more replies, this is a sort of psych/social experiment now.

I would say its rude if you didnt ask a manager/staff first because some places collect concert posters. Its basically a collectible for some bars/resturants.

Ah ha! So a collector can collect, just ask and not be "rude", go it. The thing is it's an agreement with the people hanging them, so no money is involved at all except the people making them for the bands, and I presume the bands pay a fee for them.
