i have 7 + grams of salvia leaf and a bottle of everclear. can i use the everclear to extract the salvinorin?
i also have a bottle of heet fuel aditive, which i believe is methanol, which i would prefer not to use, but i have heard it can be used in extractions.
help
thanks

Use the everclear. Heet fuel additive probably has some other junk in it.

cool thank you Neuro, im on the second wash of my 9 grams of leaf. but i only have 2 beakers one 50 ml and a 250. im waiting for the 50 ml to evaporate a bit before i can pour the solvent from the second wash that is currently in the 250 ml beaker to the 50 ml and then wait for that to evap quite a bit, add a gram of dry crushed leaf and i should have somthing along the lines of a 9x extract.
talk about a run on sentance

is there any way to speed the evaporation of the everclear? perhaps increasing the surface area of the exposed solvent? i would heat it but i would probably start a fire, and despite the fact i have variable heating elements, i do not know the flash point of everclear or how the flash point would be effected by the presenec of chlorophyl and salvinorin, not to mention all the other compuunds that i extracted from the leaf.

Never heat flammable liquids on an open flame, use a sand bath or heating mantle.
Increasing the surface area of the liquid will help speed it up, or a gentle breeze blowing over the surface will help too.
The flashpoint of ethanol is 12C

well i got out the ol crock pot, and heates some water to about 200, and put a teflon pot on the top of it, and evaped on there. it worked out interestingly, no breakthroughs but i was definately "slidey".
i had to add some more leaf, so i think that i only have somthing around the lines of a 3-5x extract. would it be active sublingually? and if so how long would one have to hold it there?
peace

That works too.
It would be active sublingually or as a quid if single leaves are active as a quid.
