Life has no meaning

I have come to conclusion that life is completely meaningless. People like to say that you give your own meaning to life but of course that's bull sh-t. You're going to die so anything you do will be forgotten. I personally think its stupid to think that we have a afterlife but the other animals dont. Why the fu-k would the evil talking monkeys get a afterlife lol? How many of you understand that life is meaningless? How do you keep going knowing the truth and not get depressed?

You have lost nothing that you ever actually had.

You now have a freedom to create your own path and narrative free from the illusion of importance.

It's not dangerous to other people because I'm a kind non-violent person. I'm surprised other people don't understand what I'm talking about. I've used A LOT of dmt and mushrooms so no one on here is going to convince me that they know the secrets of the universe. Most people over exaggerate their ayahuasca experiences and are full of it just like religious people. I wish people would start being honest I really do.

I think I was deluded so maybe I couldn't have been.
Self important, egotistical meanings, purposeful outcomes unseen.
The pointlessly whimsical Meandering of somebody going nowhere.
When in fact I thought maybe there was a purpose, I found out what a scare!

Now here is where a few journeyman may have fallen.
The realisation of uselessness to much for an ego swollen.
Delusions of purpose is all that they are.
When in fact comfort is found on a bridge too far.

We ain't going nowhere we ain't already been.
You can relax like a sunset a beautiful slate cleaned.
You see your unimportant's should allow a liberation.
Help you dispel linear a scientific aberration.

Why did I think it was for a reason.
I'm important an understandings treason.

I guess what I'm trying to say is its ok.
Please don't feel wasted or a societal stray.

That’s all people sucking...  it took me a while to realize all the times I was saying life sucks and fuck life, it was people I was mad at, not life.  That’s an important distinction to make.. life is wonderful and things could look and feel very different if people got off one another’s back..

Also this, mostly. Though death and some aspects of life that aren't people are pretty lame as well, it's mostly other people.

This is more than just depression it's the truth. All the science and everything I've experienced is pointing in this direction. I've looked into religion, went to shamans, extracted dmt, grown mushrooms, I've researched for countless hours on the internet, I've looked everywhere.

After many trip of DMT this life will reflect what happens to you when you die. It's up to you to learn and make the best of it. I believe u have to find your own meaning in life.

I used to have those thoughts as well. I thought life was pointless with no reason to even live. I wasnt suicidal just convinced that life had no real "end goal". But then i realised you have to find what *your* purpose is, even if its strange or unusual. Thats the meaning of life, finding your role in the world around you.

I believe life is about self-discovery. Self-learning. And learning about the Universe/Earth as well.

This is the wrong way to think of it and the way a spoiled adolescent thinks.

It's an abstract concept that you have to understand yoursel. People that looks at the universe and see random chance and purposelessness have a mental problem. I think it has to do with their own feelings of worthlessness and our rather extensive knowledge of the material world, along with seeing bad things happen that they can't put a reason to.

Consciousness didn't have to emerge. We could all be empty boxes like computers interacting based on sound reasoning, but we aren't. It's enough for me to think more is happening

Been there recently, but life has ups and downs but the toughest of us will make it through. And everyone can be the toughest, you just must take some self reflection and set goals. Work towards those goals, and focus on them, sharpen your mind. Life maybe limited but at the end of the day we all have meaning somewhere to someone to do something. Always remember that. Honestly, when I was having my own doubts, this community was able to really pick me up. Keep on truckin bro if ya ever wanna pm about life or anything feel free! <3

This is partly true. There is no god or afterlife. Life is meaningless and there is no main quest you have to finish in life. There is no ultimate meaning. You're just here sort of randomly like everyone else. I made it my main quest to have a good life with my family, to have fun, use up the worlds resources, go on adventures, camp in the mountains, run naked on the beaches and so on.

I also like to help my community. I go way above and beyond at work and help people fix up their stuff and try to leave the world in a better places than I found it and to leave a positive impact on people. It try to pick up litter and contribute where I can.

You don't have to be forgotten if you don't want to be. Especially with the internet because now everything online is forever until humans are no longer here. To be remembered you have to do something great like make a masterpiece work of art, dedicate your life to helping people, invent something amazing, or become a world leader. You can also be remembered and, in a way, keep living by passing on your genes and raising a kid. After you've had your fun you can dedicate your life to letting someone else experience a good life.

Such proof is probably impossible because a sufficiently advanced simulation might be perfectly undetectable. Only affirmative proof of an imperfect simulation is possible I think. And in the absence of that, it makes sense to default to the simpler explanation (no matrix-type simulation) unless/until it proves to be insufficient in explaining some new observations.

saying everything is meaningless requires a lot of assumptions. it means you think you know how it all works.
but we really dont know even the most fundamental questions about life like what is it, how is it, what is conciousness,etc.
Life might be meaningless on the absolute level, but it doesnt seem so on the relative level and thats the level the mind works. (ex. pain is reason to avoid painful situations)
sure the mind can theorize about ultimate meaninglessness  but it does this by giving meaning to other things.
if there was an actual moment of seeing thru all the self imposed meaning there would be a seeing that you dont know shit beyond  just this one indescribable happening.. and theres a lightness and joy of being that comes with that as nihilism(heavy belief system)  drops away.

Just wanted to share my personal experience, not saying that it's proof of anything. But I find it strange that you would discard my experience and yet take your own as proof that life is completely meaningless.

If you see / experience love, your body releases oxytocin, saratonin, dopamine
This increases vitality.

However, if you see threats you release Stress hormones and histamine


This directly influences your health and happiness.
