Diseases that were declared eradictaed are making a come back. How?
Well this year we are projected to receive 1.5 million migrants from our southern border. This article states that the government KNOWS they are sick partially treats them and then relseases them into the interior of the country. Into your towns, your kids schools.

At the same time trump and the cdc are telling families they are the problem. Thry are not the ones brining in disease. You could have an entire country unvaccinated and healthy as long as millions of unvaccinated atent pouring through the border.

That is a far cry from what a CBP official told me two weeks ago – that “we have not seen any specific, unusual, or alarming public health or infectious disease threats in persons in CBP custody.”

CBP declined to comment further on Hull’s revelation upon my request.

If border agents have confirmed the arrival of illegal aliens with tuberculosis who have not been treated in hospitals, what about all those exposed to it in close quarters who did not yet exhibit symptoms and were released within hours of apprehension? Unlike in the past, where illegal immigrants waited for days in ICE facilities before either being deported or released, CBP is directly releasing thousands of aliens into the interior within hours. A bunch of illegal aliens caught in Arizona and El Paso this past month were released in Tucson.

It is simply inconceivable that this is not a priority threat to the American people. It is certainly a violation of current immigration law. The law (8. U.S.C. §1182(a)(1)(A)(i)-(ii)) states clearly that any alien “who has failed to present documentation of having received vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases, which shall include at least the following diseases: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, influenza type B and hepatitis B, and any other vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases” are inadmissible. Moreover, 8 U.S.C. § 1222(a) requires the government to detain them “for a sufficient time to enable the immigration officers and medical officers to subject such aliens to observation and an examination sufficient to determine whether or not they belong to inadmissible classes.”

DHS officials, including the current acting DHS secretary, have testified that these people have largely never “received immunizations.”

chicken pox has never been claimed to be eradicated



scabies isn't a disease


measles was never declared to be eradicated, even in this country.  cases occur every year, just not on the scale that we're seeing currently.

Lol foreign countries have health warnings about traveling to the US because americans didn’t vaccinate their kids for measles. It’s not the immigrant you need to worry about. I wouldn’t be surprised if people in Central America have better rates of vaccination.

okay, i stand corrected, one government organization DID declare it eradicated.  George W. Bush declared "Mission accomplished!"  clearly they were both wrong.  does it really matter?  it's still here.  cases still have happened in this country, despite what the CDC says.

If your kid was born in the US, your kid more than likely does not have a TB vaccine. And is at risk.

Most of the Central American countries are low incidence countries according to WHO. TB is a much bigger problem in Africa and Asia. Russia has three times the rate of TB than Mexico.

Central America has about the same rates as Eastern Europe. Central America has low rates of drug resistant TB.

The diseased foreigner is such an old worn out trope. JHOVA is an old school xenophobe.

I bet Fox News is telling viewers that people from all three Mexican countries are bringing in smallpox.

Smallpox was recently declared eradicated, wasn't it? Or at least nearly eradicated? (don't remember the actual category name)

In Russia, you get vaccinated for TB as a baby. It leaves a pretty prominent scar, because they have to use a large-bore needle. Mine's about 6mm diameter, right in the gap between the delt and the tricep.

I also false positive on every TB test I take, since they test for antigens. Which, after one particularly annoying almost quarantine, means I take a fuckload of immunosuppressants (basically anti-AIDS drugs) whenever I have to get tested.

Are there many? How many? Some guy who isn’t a doctor and probably doesn’t know the first thing about infectious diseases said something on Fox News. Did he give any numbers? It’s hard to take someone seriously when they scaremonger about lice.

As for the policy towards tuberculosis in 1907... you couldn’t cure TB back then. Now almost all cases of TB are cleared up with a course of antibiotics. It’s also not very contagious. People lived with TB patients for years without contracting the disease.

No they won't. That idea is fundamentally stupid as long as state borders are porous. Anyone can travel wherever they please in the US.

If we were to limit travel between states, requiring some sort of citizenship test, then you're correct. They will lose the war of attrition. Then again, the people who matter will all leave before the people that don't die out.

You know, I used to love this game called "Ruler 2020" as a kid. Loved the shit out of it. One of the scenarios was that the US broke into separate countries by state.

I always played either Pennsylvania or Brazil. Brazil had more resources by far, but not really a good position. Pennsylvania didn't really have *more* resources, but they had enough strategic resources to go to war and conquer the surrounding few states, which gave access to the resources needed to conquer the world. You just had to take NY, Mass, Conn, and a chunk of Ohio, WV, and Virginia for a nice buffer zone. Great lakes on one side and the ocean on the other limited ground attack, and a bunch of AA flak kept Canada and the other northern states off your back. Which was doable if you converted Detroit to making tank parts right away. Then you had access to resources and people, which provided a solid economic base. Of course, the biggest problem was doing that without pissing off the states that have Uranium, since that was far, and you needed nukes to keep taking land easily. Or at least, to prevent Russia or China from nuking you of existence.

God I hope it's not an accurate idea of the future.

It's not stupidity or preference. It's economic reality.

Red states are cheap because they get subsidized by blue states. People move there for cheaper living, and their kids stay there because they're too poor to leave. That's the point. A couple more debt slaves.

It's another Gilded age. Down to the Teapot Dome scandals. The system is fucked, people are realizing it, and it will not end well.

I just hope the trauma plate I ordered six hours ago can catch the result without fucking my chest over too bad.

get an NIJ level IIIA soft vest with a carrier that takes the hard plates you ordered.  That way, you have a chance to stop a rifle round with both or if its too hot and uncomfortable in the summertime, the soft armor will still stop a .44 mag or 12 gauge slug.  Also, even if you don't want to carry a firearm, maybe keep bear mace handy like a fire extinguisher.  It'll fuck over everyone in the room if you have to use it, but I doubt anyone will do much shooting.

That's exactly what I bought, actually. 3A vest with a trauma plate pouch and a plate rated for type 4 AP rounds.

I personally follow the mantra of "guns are for show, knives for a pro".

Bear mace clouds will disable me as well, so...eh? My potential shooter in my classroom idea so far was smash a gallon of acetone on the floor and set the world on fire, because I can deal with fire better than I deal with bullets. I've walked into fireballs before, and while I've had guns pointed at me twice now, I've never actually been shot at. Considering a vest, that may change.

It's not for whenever I leave the house. I plan on keeping it in my car and putting it on for campus only. Which is a few hours a day.

Thing is, YOLO is both a blessing and a curse. Yeah, I'm a little fucked up about it. Ever read the short story "Trauma Plate"? I read it four hours before there was a shooting at my place of work. Over lunch. It was recommended by someone I know.

If you're handy, you might look into ultra high molecular weight polyethylene textile and some resin to go with it.  You can use it to make your own plates and custom items.

I remember riding a Greyhound across the US south some years ago. Some old racist bastard got on and sat next to me, and spent the entire ride with his tshirt pulled up over his face. He told me it was to protect him from the Mexicans bringing in TB.

I just couldn't stop thinking at how much of an idiot he looked like. Even if he was 100% correct, a tshirt ain't gonna do shit.
