How da fk u save youtube vids??

Used to be sites wherte u paste URl and get audio and or video.

Not any more, all there is shit and trojans

I need to download and save summer music!!

using VLC:


copy link


open network stream via 'file'


paste link

accept certificates


view codec information via 'media'


copy link at the bottom of that pop-up window into your browser


right-click save as





doesn't work with all videos, fyi

it does if the video uploader doesn't have the material copyrighted.  i know cause i just did it this morning for a few videos.

Download a Firefox addon to download flash videos or use a packet sniffer to find out where the files live.  Been a while since I've bothered with the latter, but unless they've changed things up your computer still has to tell the server what (video) file it's requesting for the littler media player thing.

okay, so i just saved another round of videos off youtube.  so i'ma go through the steps again. 


***NOTE: IF the material is copyrighted by the uploader, this will not work***



copy URL of video you want


open VLC


under 'Media' (formerly 'File'), select 'Network Stream', paste link, press enter


select 'View Certificate', then 'Accept Certificate' (you may have to accept the certificate multiple times)


when the video plays in VLC, select 'Tools', select 'Media Information' OR 'Codec Information'


at the bottom of the pop-up window in VLC is a LONG line of characters.  Copy this line of characters then paste it into your browser. 

When the video shows up in the browers, right click, 'Save As....'




Finito



Again, this WILL NOT WORK if the media is copyrighted.

Throws some popups once in a while, but works, and no trojans etc.

IMO easiest method is firefox browser, google; 'addons' to find firefox addon page,
search addons 'youtube video' to find apps which add [download button] onto utube pages.
the button will also give you options for mp3 or different download quality/file sizes.

The best one I've found is "Youtube2mp3.cc".

It will convert the video, and a Download link appears.
When you click download, a pop-up will open and I usually just close it.
But sometimes, it requires me to allow it some kind of permission, so I click Allow, and clear the browser history once I've downloaded the song, because I'm a bit paranoid that by clicking Allow, that I've allowed malware or something into my system, but the site has been up for a long time, I've never had problems with it, and it seems to be trustworthy.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security, Firefox Nightly, and have several add-ons that are mainly for security, like 1,Privacy Badger(Blocks invisible trackers), 2,Smart Https(helps you always use the secure HTTPS protocol, if supported by the server), 3,Decentraleyes(Protects you against tracking through "free", centralized, content delivery) 4, Hoxx WebRTC IP Leak Shield(Prevents your data from being leaked and sold), 5, Browsec VPN(Easy to use VPN but annoying if you only use the free version), and uBlock Origin(There's lots of evidence and people who have the opinion that uBlock Origin is better than other Adblockers).

I use all these plug-ins for "safety" online, even though I barely do anything online, and don't even do anything illegal.

I use this. https://www.youtubebyclick.com/ if you dont want to click the link just search for , youtubeclick.

Very easy to use and straight forward.

Downloads the whole vid fairly quick or you can just download the sound.

It's free so there may be some strings attached.
