Are the use of monotubs necessary?
    #25960867 - 04/28/19 03:19 PM (5 years, 8 months ago)

I've been doing much research about cultivation, and this is something I am unsure of. At some point, do you need to move your spawn to a monotub? Or are the mushrooms fine to continue growing out of the jar with, say, a plastic bag over the top?

From my limited understanding, it seems monotubs are used for bulk spawns. I may be wrong - so please correct me.

P.S. I'm still getting used to this mushroom jargon

Thank you guys :-)

You can fruit grains invitro, but it's not a recommended way. As an alternative to mono, you can use shoeboxes.

You need some kind of humidity controlling chamber, you can use a small greenhouse (martha) or tubs or a plastic bag, whatever really. If your climate allows dump it outside in the shade a cover with horse/cow shit and straw. The straw will provide the humidty control. You can even fruit open air if you wanna mist that shit by hand whenever it needs it. So no you dont need monotubs, theyre just convenient AF because they’re modular and all you gotta do it dial them in, forget about them for a couple weeks and then harvest.
