What’s up tribe. Haven’t grown in years. Got a buddy sending me some KSSS mutant prints. I think my sterile tek is fine.
I ALWAYS get trich right before fruiting time. Always except when I use bottled water.... my well water is 250ppm. So there’s something in it.... wonderIng if it’s giving me late contam issues or misting with it

I have pressure cooker. Wbs oats. Old mono tubs.
Haven’t done this in a few years. What have I missed? Any crazy new methods?

A gallon jug of water shouldn’t break the piggy bank
How are the mutant KSSS are they a potent cube? I’ve never had them. Comparable to PE?
In before a cube is a cube

Shoeboxes are pretty fool proof. What’s your spawn to sub ratio and what substrate are you planning?

Dude I just been doing 1: 1 with just verm.
It’s been hit and miss. Doing multi spore is hit and miss
No SAB open air inoculation, micro pore tape, and torch sterilized syringe
No contamination, rarely ever

At what point are you including your well water? If you're using it to cook grains with before PCing, then water probably isn't your issue. If you're just using the water in the casing you could try steam sterilizing your casing or even pressure cooking it and letting it cool before using it?

I would like to point out that if you always get Trichoderma in your jars before you even spawn you may want to revisit your sterile procedure, it sounds like you're having problems.
As far a subs go coir/vermiculite mix work extremely well and are fine to sterilize. I would not make a sub out of straight vermiculite, it will take too long to colonize.

Have you ever tried it?
Takes about 5 days to colonize
It works, coir I guess is better
I have to try it sometime

Yes, most of us have tried it, we call it PF cakes. Vermiculite holds water well, coco coir dissipates water like a wick. Coco coir offers a good surface micro climate that is not attractive to competitors. Both are similar in that aspect. As far as the coco/verm combo goes, it works extremely well for cubes, they love it.
