Trich I think... Please confirm for me

Hi shroomers
I guess we all end up in this part of the forum eventually, I just wish it had've took a bit longer
So I had a promising looking GT tub, was BRF cake to CVG, which was done bucket tek. All was going great, put to fruiting conditions a couple of days ago, woke up this morning to a new white growth, looking like it is beginning to get some light green tinge to it. This is the infamous trich correct?

So I know already that you guys are all gonna tell me that surgery is out of the question, right?
Ok, hard as that is for me to swallow, what is the best way to proceed then, if I were to wanna get the sub out of the room obviously, I hear burying it outside can result in at least something coming out of an otherwise rubbish project...
I have the option of a worm bin to maybe put the sub into, it has all kinds of competing fungus and bacteria and red worms and springtails, but it stays above 16°C at all times
My other option is to dig a chunk out of a planter outside and bury the sub in the corner of it, there is some herb plants growing in the planter and it is filled with a bagged soil, mostly wood fiber and manure not composted very long, the cheap stuff from the big box stores. Outside temps are currently still at freezing point and just above here where I am. Will this kill the sub or will it just go to sleep for a bit and wake up when temps are more appropriate?
What is the best option or is there something better I have not considered please guys? Obviously wanna get the damn thing out soon as possible
Much appreciated
Have a nice day

Sorry for your loss..Yup that's trich
Burying outside seems to have good results, the planter sounds the most suitable, but the cold is going to be a problem, so the worm bin seems your best shot now

cheers shroomspective
I will give the worm bin a chance, the trich will be right at home, and is probably just going back to the source lol
may be time to give up worm farming I guess if I can't avoid cross contamination
thanks for letting me know

Trich has a lot of lookalikes
Of first that sub looks over moist but this is fine when starting out
Next "surgery" Here's the thing there are some people who this has worked for How ever most of the time it was more of luck thing then anything else The problem is the contam is everywhere in there not just that one spot
The problem was most probably you spawn/cakes
In future grows well still figuring things out don't mix you cakes/ do split tubs , spawn at a low rate like 1:2 or 1:1
You can bury it outside this can work Funny story: I throw out a trich bombed tub a few weeks ago did bury or do anything block just laying there About 2 days ago I picked some ugly mushrooms from it (Don't expecte it to go the same for you this was more of a freak of luck then anything else)
Don't worry about mixing in compost just mix it into your garden soil

thanks for your thoughts Geinstein
it has already been put to the worm bin, I took a few pics of how it looked so someone else might benefit from this thread someday maybe
this is what the sub will be up against

this is how the sub looked on the bottom. Now I'm thinking you are dead right about the being too wet Geinstein, I reckon that uncolonized river was a wet spot against the plastic from my field capacity being off. And of course I could've seen that if I just hadn't used a liner on the tub

so anyway I dug her a nice little pit and covered her over with about a half inch over the top

We will see if anything comes of it, I am certainly not holding my breath
And yes I reckon I will make smaller tubs from now on so if some contam sneaks in I don't blooter 8 cakes all at once like today
Thank you again for your help fellas, I will report if anything interesting happens

The problem is people talk about testing for field capacity with like how it looks or feels or what the fuck ever when they have no frame of reference, they don't know what 60% water feels like because they have nothing to compare it to
Heres a tip get a scale place 5g of substrate in a cup Microwave it shake it a bit weigh it wright down weight Repeat this until you get the same weight 3 times in a row That's Zero moisture (the raw weight of your sub) Now dry weight divided by wet weight x100 gives you the % Then adjust your sub's water content to what your looking for
Most mushrooms do well around 60% water(most not all) I've found cubs to be good around 70% water
Now you've got a big advantage over a lot of guys around here
