Bull grow flush question
    #25955290 - 04/25/19 06:20 PM (5 years, 8 months ago)

I have a monotub using cvg growing golden teachers spawned on the berries. I spawned to the cvg and closed up the fae holes to colonize in a mostly dark warm space. Before I uncovered the holes and pot the micropore tape on, the myc started pinning like crazy. I put the monotub in fruiting conditions and began to get mushrooms. The harvest didn't co.e on in one giant flush like I see so many pictures of here. Instead it kind of trickled in. I would get 8 or 10 mushrooms ready for harvest a day but they pretty much kept coming. I am up to about 15 dry grams now but the harvestable mushrooms are getting fewer and smaller. If I look at the myc there are still several pins but not as many as there were.

My question is two fold. First, how do I get the whole tub to do a first flush all at once like the beautiful flushes that look like lumpy carpet I see here? And second, what do I do to get the tub to do a second, third, etc. flush at this point? Do I have to flood the substrate? Change the tub conditions? What? I just don't want to get this first weak flush and that be it.

Thanks for your help and expertise!

Welcome to the multispore lottery.

1. Clone a fruit from one of then first clusters, when you grow this clone out you will be more likely to get a full flush since all the fruits will be genetically similar. IE fast and prolific.

2. If its still heavy like when you spawned it dont do anything. Just leave itnin fruiting conditions. If its significantly light then give it a drink, you dont need to flood it, just pour a qt of water down the side and then in a couple hours pour out anything it doesnt soak up. If its still heavy but the surface is dry give it a good spritzing with the spray bottle and check on it in a couple hours, repeat as neccesaey until you have good surface conditions again, don’t overdo it or you will cause the surface to matt down which makes it hard for pins to poke through.

Couldn't tell ya how to get to Canopy Lane, or even Sesame Street for that matter. I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that the consensus in this community is that when you add your spawn to substrate, there's no need to tape up the FAE holes. People spawn straight into growing conditions now.

As far as how to get that nice even pin set to get the purdy first flushes, beats me. Maybe it's a genetic thing??
