Wbs with vegetable oil
    #25923764 - 04/08/19 07:03 PM (5 years, 9 months ago)

Normally I get this nature song finch seed from Kroger but I was at Walmart and grabbed a 10lb bag of their finch seed and a 20lb bag of their wbs...

And got home and checked rhe ingredient and noticed both have vegetable oil

The finch seed also has less fat but more fiber than the stuff i usually get

The protein, fat,ans fiber in the 20lb bag is pretty disgraceful

Should I just use all this up or would it be better to just go buy clean nature song finch seed like I usually use?

Haven't tried prepping any of these yet.

I had a run of jars and all 7 looked gros.s. like how when you shske the jar and ir leaves a residue on thr glass.. makes me so sad.

Then these other jars i just shook look the fucking same... So sad...

So I'm apprehensive about trying some wbs thar seems even more likely to bebacterial or gross than thr stuff i jist used which o must have fucked up.

So would you use the stuff or buy new shit and basically I wasted $25?

Also I washed all these jars by hand.

I don't feel like I washed them like a lazy bum but I have no dishwasher at my new place

I figured it doesn't make much difference since they get PC'ed... My PC has also been leaking like a POS even though I oil the gasket. Maybe I need a new PC or new gasket.

That couldn't possibly account for the contam jars could it..?

I ran a bunch of jars right before these and they were fine.

But 2 sets both seem gross, shit sucks....

Potentially 14 jars down the drain...

Well I'll let all you people who are soooo interested how it goes.

I mixed some of the Pennington wbs with mt finch seed which both had the vegetable oil

Just loaded the PC, bringing it up to steam now

Even left in a lot of the sunflower seeds to see how they do

But I finally prepped enough seed this time so the jars a bit fuller than mt usual. I always fuck up and do too little

Excited to do a G2G transfer tomorrow, then I'll compare colonization to the jars i just did a G2G with today of straight nature finch seed, no vegetable oil

Noone cares

Except me

I'm excited and sure they'll do great

Might try bods oat prep Tek next

I did 3 runs so 21 jars total, they all turned out rather beautifully, I feel like they look better in person than in the pics.

So I just rinsed them very very well prior to loading in the jars, I also washed with 1 drop or so of dish soap for the first rinse. Followed by about 3 or 4 very good rinses, kept rinsing until the water was clear.

PC'ed for 2.5 hours. I was very happy with the results

Just spawned the last of my 40 jars. I have 14 shoebox's and 4 monos colonizing right now
