PE troubles

A friend is having some trouble getting anything other than blobs from this variety. He's hoping to nab a nice clone for consistency. He's tried consolidating his jars/substrates, and a layer of plain coir/verm at spawn as well but still no luck. He's also recently tried casing with pasteurized organic jiffy mix after reading about it reducing blobage, but unfortunately is dealing with some slight cobweb issues which is being fought with 3% h202 and increased FAE He did however get a few normal PE fruits on a 2nd flush in a mono awhile back but they seemed to be infected with verticilluim, and didn't want to risk cloning an infected fruit and wasting time as he's dealt with that contam countless times in the past and it's ruined many projects. Any info on vert would help as well Do any TC's or anyone familiar with the variety have any advice? Forgot to mention he starts on grain from MS then drops a grain to agar, makes a transfer, then back to grains, ect

Using “he” is douche, it’s not going to save you from Johnny Law. We all know it’s you so just say “I”, you will get more help that way.
Sorry I can’t help you with your PE troubles. Welcome to the forum!

Grain to agar is a bit risky. I've tried it and had trouble cleaning it up good. Spores to agar or clone to agar works better for me personally.

Noted. I apologize!
And Subfinder I've never had luck with syringe to agar, usually due to bacteria. I usually just drop a grain onto agar and cut from the most rhizo looking section once ot grows out. I was reading about people using innoculating loops to swipe a single drop of spore solution but personally have never tried that myself
And as far as cloning, i haven't been able to produce a normal looking PE fruit to clone so far

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Let us know how your cloning goes.

Thank you! Long time lurker on here and first time poster. Been trying forever to get a decent clone but this variety seems to be super finicky. I know normal fruits usually appear on 2nd flush so let's see how these casings turn out. I see knots and what could look like more blobs poking up 😒 also started some APE from spores recently to see if those will give me a better chance but I've read those like blobbing out as well. Perhaps the PE variety is just overbred and is begining to degrade? Any opinions?

...Mush love!
Yes! Reading that post by Frank awhile back is what made me recently want to give jiffy mix a shot. Not just for reduced blobage but for preventing dried out substrates. Thanks!

They're potent little fuckers, but the actual PE fruits are just so beautiful to look at

They really are. And agreed on the fruits. I had to dump a tub outside once and the caps got super light despite the shade, particularly cool looking.
Prease excuse the delayed response/bump.
