Late harvest - still good or not ?
    #25951063 - 04/23/19 03:15 PM (5 years, 8 months ago)

Dear all,
I am new to growing my own shrooms and have a question regarding my first harvest.
I have a lot of Mexican mushrooms that I’ve been growing for a few weeks. Unfortunately, once the first mushrooms showed I had to leave for a 5 days work trip and when I came back the mushrooms were really tall and mostly black.

Is it safe to eat them ? I am trying a second flush anyway but as I read on the forum, many spore fell on the substate already...

Thanks a lot for your advises !

You might have more indigestion than normal if you eat them like that. I would recommend a tea for suspect fruits (or any fruits :pipesmoke: ). I would definitely consume them tho

I would grind them up and make tea out of them.

Don’t think you need to dry em if you’re making a tea. I think the tea will quite some time itself

I only use tea these days just dry them out throw them in a blender or coffee grinder or something to get them as fine of a powder as possible let it steep 15-20 minutes and drink. I've let mine go to that point a few times when I wanted to trip fresh with some buddies and they came on too early have never had an issue they taste terrible if you eat them like that though...
