Question regarding agar to grain vs grain to grain

Hello! I have reached the point where I've done 2 transfers, and have about 8 good looking agar plates with healthy mycelium. I'm a little unclear on how to proceed. I'm hoping to make 10 1qt grain jars for a monotub, but have the following questions.
1. Should I use my 8 agar plates to inoculate 10 jars?
2. Should I use the best looking agar plate to inoculate one jar then do grain to grain transfers from that jar? If so, what should I do with the other agar plates?
3. What is the best way to grow in perpetuity? Should I clone the best looking mushroom to agar, do some transfers, and repeat?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Probably best to do A2Gs at this point. You need clean master jars for G2G and there's a high chance they won't be clean enough on your first attempt. With multiple A2G transfers you're more likely to have at least some jars succeed.

Ah ok, so do agar to grain in 10 jars to get a good master, then use the good master for grain to grain? Also, how much of an agar plate do you use to inoculate a grain jar? I think I've heard cut it into 4 sections, is that accurate? Thanks a ton for the assistance!

I dump entire plates in and just see what happens. I then plan to clone the best fruit from each jar.
But you can chop it into 4 or 8 or as small as you like. Smaller just may take a little longer to colonise.

Agreeing with poisoned. I would however take a tiny little wedge to transfer to new plates before dropping them to grain. I use the whole plate in the jar but not everyone does. Some use half, quarters, whatever you are comfortable with.
