Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection * 2
    #25951691 -

Anyone want to share any personal experience with lucid dreaming and or astral projection?

I have had many lucid dreams, but never was successful with astral projection.

One of the wildest lucid dream experiences I’ve had was having a lucid dream inside of another lucid dream.  So I was 2 layers deep... some true inception type shit.

Cheers!

Sounds awesome.

Ive only had two brief lucid dreams. I had limited control but the feeling is incredible. U feel like a God. Its crazy.

Ive had a lot of vivid dreams lately. Complex, elaborate dreams that don't even feel like they could be from my imagination. It feels beyond it.

I'm fascinated with lucid dreaming and have begun to "practice" dreaming consciously. I would love to hear your tips and suggestions.

I have astral projected one time. I'm not sure if others are supposed to "sense" your presence when you astral project. In my experience the living did not seem to know I was there, but a recently deceased woman stopped me on my journey to tell me a few things that they wanted me to share with their loved ones.

I did "unwind" my chakras in order to astral project-- which can be dangerous so I made sure that I wasn't "out" too long. It was my first time doing that (and I haven't done it again; but I think I might try it again- this post reminded me of what's possible).

If you haven't unwound your chakras in your past attempts to astral project I would suggest maybe giving that go. Just remember-- do not stay out long-it's easy to lose track of time--- and don't forget to re-wind your chakras when you're back in your body. Start at your first chakra when you unwind-- and start at your crown chakra to re-wind them.

I'd love to hear how it goes if you decide to try this out.

Cheers!!

What method did you use to astral project?

I started projecting at age 12 when a close friend shared with me his experiences & information on it (books/e-reading).

Some things that help:
  Stretch every morning and night.
Playing a relaxing loop/infinite sound of ocean waves crashing.
Every morning write down your experiences to your best description. This one also applies to lucid dreaming.
There are many forums dedicated to the discussion of experiences and techniques for both OBE & LD.

After your night stretch lay down on your back in a completely dark room. Feel your muscles relaxing from your center outwards to your fingers & toes. Relax. Feel the pineal gland, hear, feel, and become the vibration; that buzzing electric sound/feel.the natural frequency that inhabits everything. As the vibration grows stronger in sound it will radiate through your entire body.
Let yourself fall out of your body. You will be in a state of sleep paralysis, which every healthy body does so don't physically act out anything in your dreams. Except you will be conscious so it's important to stay relaxed. It's not uncommon to become aware of other inhabitants that your mind has been trained to tune out. This is just a very brief time both before you leave your body and when coming back into it.

For Lucid dreaming the technique that always works for me is to set an alarm for when I am in my dream state of my REM cycle. And as you get better at it more than one alarm. Hit the alarm and go right back into your dream knowing you are doing so.

Just relax and let it happen. Like many things it's easy to over-think. This is especially true here. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

The times I did lucid dreaming, it was from accidently WILD, Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming. The waking up then sleeping then waking up then sleeping cycle really does the trick!

I've had a lot of semi lucid dreams but nothing too vivid. The most common are flying dreams, sometimes it's more like a slow hover where I can float around by focusing. But other times I'll be flying around the sky like crazy, or even be a bird flying through local neighborhoods.

I had a dream the other night that I broke my fast because i was eating one of those icecream drumsticks, I realized it might be a dream so I tried knocking on the coffee table and felt it so I knew it wasnt a dream and there was a bag of chips with that siracha rooster on them so I ate some of the chips, then I woke up and it was all a dream

To become lucid is to become aware that you are dreaming. So the closest thing i got from being lucid is when i magically became a sword fighting god, i knew i wouldnt survive this in reality, so i became aware i was dreaming, but in my dream i was an ultra reflex master in some warzone.

Ever try any dream herbs? Do you smoke cannabis? There are ways you can help promote lucid dreaming, it seems meditation can help in some cases.

Anyways Celastrus Panaculatus can have some significant effects on dreams, it's known to promote lucid dreams as well as dream recall. Also can help with memory in general and has some natural nootropic effects. Very worth reading up on.

There are quite a few dream herbs though, been meaning to try more and make a blend. Some seem a bit dubious but some do have proven effects and a lot of interesting anecdotal evidence.

For the last few years I’ve been getting lucid regularly in my dreams. I largely put this down to meditation and pranayama, but when I regularly do reality checks in waking life, it seems to make it happen even more regularly. My problem is generally staying in the dream once I realise I’m dreaming. I often get a little excited and end up waking myself up. I’ve had a few really vivid lucid dreams though, even a couple where I have interacted with someone I know in a dream, and then confirmed that interaction with them later in real life.

As far as dreaming supplements go, I’ve tried calea zacatechichi and mugwort, but neither seemed to help me. I didn’t take the calea zacatechichi as long as I should have done though. I’ve also tried Galantamine with Choline, which I had some success with. However, you can only take it once or twice a week due to tolerance issues, and after a few intitial successes, I started finding it hard to go back to sleep once I had woken up and taken it. It also made me a little tired upon awakening.

Anyway, the biggest key seems to be the strength of your awareness (the more aware you are, the easier it is to reconsider you are dreaming) which is why meditation, reality checks, and energy work/pranayama is a really good way to start lucid dreaming. Keeping a dream diary is also great to help improve recall.

Yes, I used to have lucid dreams all of the time.

I have forgot a lot about it, I used to know a tonn. but its been a few years since ive had them

I used to get sleep paralysis every night.

Id imagine myself climbing out of my body with a rope hanging over me. Then Id be in my room floating around. I always had trouble staying aware and would black out a lot and go back into my body (i think this is astral projection? I used to know but once again ive forgot and too lazy to google ).

Then id also have random lucid dreams in the middle of the night, but these were moreso "semi lucid" as the setting and events were out of my control, I wasnt fully conscious but WAS aware enough to know i was dreaming.

My most powerful lucid dreams came from waking up via alarm a few hours into the night, and then immediately going back to bed while attempting to stay aware.

It worked a few times, Id go into a vivid lucid dream and have complete control of the setting and events, and be VERY aware.

I remember the last time I had a lucid dream, it was with this method. My sleep paralysis and natural lucid dreams had been long gone, and I really missed them. So i tried WILD and it worked. I flew over mountains and into outerspace, it was such an amazing thing. it was so amazing really.

I miss it thinking about it. I may give it a go tonight.

I Lucid dream every single night whether I want to or not
And the dreams are nearly agonizingly detailed
One time I “woke up” in my dream and wat he’d some American Dad , but it was like a weird ass American dad with patterns shifting over it and Stan was dancing for now reason , I had a full conversation with my girlfriend , then woke up again to find that that wa a dream

My dreams often take place in the same locations , the neighborhood I grew up in, my childhood house , or a school which is a mixture of all the schools I’ve been too, along with random cities at times
It gets weird when I realize it’s dreaming
One time I was in the school, and began walking down a hallway and realized I was dreaming and the lights literally started to blacked and the lockers started coming undone I had to focus and forget I knew I was dreaming,
Some common themes I’m comfortable sharing that reoccur in my dreams are

-tripping, in many of my dreams I take Mescaline ( my favorite ) or a different substance and go on a genuine and neat psychedelic experience to give an example
I had a dream just the other night that I was at some Spanish families house , I didn’t know them in real life but apparently in the dream was a really close family friend for them , they had a friend over from Australia also , an explorer of sorts who during a conversation ( I think we had a small personal cool out of something ) stayed his interest in cactus , so I explained I had a tar dose on me that I got from my freezer before coming, I got the families permission and when the kids went to bed I boiled my singular dose in a pot till it was a small amount of crystal green liquid , which we both drank , he went upstairs to hang out with a daughter, ( of age I think thy may have been a thing but who knows ) and I stayed downstairs and had a very lengthy conversation with a lady was also a daughter but one of the older ones
I had a great warmth and loving feeling in my body and the colors looked spot on especially for the small amount I took, I kept laughing at things really hard and was in such a good playful mood

Sexual demons- I don’t believe in this as a literal entity or thing in true existence but I also don’t know what to think of it , whether it’s a good dream or bad dreams , it is a reoccurring happening in my dreams where I’ll eitjer be lured or forced into a sexual encounter that ends up either being a demon female demon who was closed as a person either a stranger or some one I knew
Or just full on rapes me in a way at times lol...

My school dreams are hard to talk about tho, it’s always either field trips or me trying to pass or running from some one or a whole lot of things , it always gets weird in the cafeteria

My dreams are so realistic to me that I often freak myself out during the dream at how well my mind is simulating and how much detail there is
And I have random spouts of disassociation where I sometimes genuinely and truly wonder if I am dreaming

That’s all I can think of right now off the top of my head
I have many great dreams tho , they are usually long and story driven
Or completely random at times

Astral Projection is some far out shiz. During those times you are beyond death. You are dead, in some sense. I'm talking full blown detachment from the body into another reality.

I used to have sleep apnea, very severe form, and I think my body decided I was dead a few times from the racing heart and suffocation because many times I came out of body during the sleep apnea episodes (waking into suffocation) and established a whole other reality. It was designed, to a T. It reeked of design. My body was getting up and calling me back to it, in this simulated fashion, with a, "coooo… coooo…" sound. Come? Or was it more like a pigeon?

Obviously there's an afterlife. And it is far more intense and wonderful than 'this', though 'this' IS wonderful if you are mentally healthy.

I find the best way to have vivid dreams (which are similar to lucid dreams) is to go to bed super tired. I mean like "my eyelids feel like lead" tired. Then sleep deeply and u should have a vivid dream.

I have been trying to project for months and havent been having much luck.  I really really need it as part of a spiritual healing process that I've been going through, but I'm afraid to try DXM, and I can't try DMT because I'm on prozac and will get serotonin syndrome.  What I need to do is take a OTC med that causes you to wake up with sleep paralysis and combine it with something that causes you to do that thing where you spontaneously jump out of bed in the middle of the night - I bet that will work.  Someone please help me figure out what kind of meds I should combine in order to do that

Stick to doing it naturally, or with the help of dream herbs and other plants known to promote dreams.

Even if you manage to get somewhere close by combining various meds who knows what the side effects may be, might not be the safest. And probably wouldn't even be as pleasant.

You know, you can learn to astral project when tripping, while awake.

You know you're tripping hard when... ...when you are talking with that which calls itself the Central Intelligence of the Universe, and he says: "Atreyu, I have a surprise for you." :atreyu: and out of nowhere, not having boosted, you catapult out of your waking body into a Dream State where you find yourself to be physically transformed to Atreyu, riding Falkor over Fantasia :loveheart:

I beg of you my friends, try to use psychedelics and meditation to contact The Universe as an entity.

It will take you on adventures beyond imagination.

Believer or Infidel, (s)he has a FANTASTIC message for you.

Follow that dream

The only time I've ever AP'd was insane. Was suddenly in my room and aware of the state I was in. Knew where I was on my bed sleeping and that was a strange realization. Looked out my window and there was a giant clifford sized white stallion that jumped into a portal in my backyard. A whole lot of WTF

You go to a place, and they monitor your breathing and a bunch of other stuff while you sleep. Sleep disorders can be the source of all sorts of seemingly unrelated health issues. Not getting the sleep you need wrecks the endocrine system, and that throws off pretty much every system in the body.

edit: just talk to your dr, and tell them you're not getting good sleep. Tell them you think you might have sleep apnea, and want to do a sleep study.

I only lucid dream / project when I have been focusing heavily on my inner self. Here are a few that were super impactful to me. Experiences so vivid and real it makes waking life feel like a hazy dream.

In order of progression: note early experiences of purification

1. “Flying” erratically through a fiery realm. Waking to experience a heat like sensation running through my body.

2. Grabbing onto a glowing rod, glowing language seemed to emit from it, felt like wisdom. Waking again from the heat in my hand.. Intense hot like sensation.. like dried ice maybe?

3. Exiting from body while laying in bed, floating / thrashing around my room bouncing off solid surfaces. Being aware of my body laying in bed. Able to feel my body yet going back and forth from feeling my physical self to experience the projected self.

4. Several dreams of conscious freedom of exiting my body and flying around dream realms. Feeling the  complete ecstasy of flight. Other entities I came across usually marveled at this gift. Usually I was so happy to be experiencing this sensation I squandered it like a child and never really settled with it in absolute control.

All these experiences were cut off when I stopped focusing on spiritual practices.

So the sleep experiences correlate with you delving into "spiritual practices". Does the time when you were interested in spiritual practices correspond to any other patterns in your life?

For me it's usually disrupted sleep patterns and stress, but not always. I still get sleep paralysis weekly, although not full blow projection lately.

Weird experience I had: I was "astral projecting" in my apartment. I walked around inside, and then I started to go outside, but my perception of everything got very foggy and disoriented, and I had the feeling of it all being drawn to an end, if you know what I mean. Like the experience was closing into a dream. Somehow, I realized that all of the fogginess and disorientation correlated to a negativity that I was was emitting, so I started dancing around the apartment in circles singing, love love love, love love love love, over and over, with a feeling of joy just radiating from me. The happier I felt, the brighter and clearer everything got.

I still use this strategy if things start to turn dark, and it always works. It's silly, but it works so far.

I didn't read everyones post but the method i used to astral project without falling asleep involved laying with my arm raised to the ceiling. You can look it up online to find a better description of how to start this practice. But essentially, if you start to fall asleep your arm falls and wakes you up allowing you to access the deepest parts of awakeness and astral project. I think I only needed to do this a few times before I was able to lay down and almost instantly access the astral vibration. It took me a while to be able to break or fall through the vibration but I just kept reading techniques. It's been years though and at that time I  was extremely well meditated, whereas now im as far from meditated as one can be!
