What to do next???

I was wondering what my next step should be. I planned on having them grow completely in the bag. Now that I have a 8lb bag filled with mycelium letting them pin on top of the bag seems like a waste. This is my first grow so I'm just feeling everything out. I own a house that is very prone to mildew so I wanted to keep them in the bag. I do have a tub ready with a led light. What would be the difference in harvest amounts? Is it much less not to open the bag?? Seems to be. Just wondering is anyone has used both ways before it's been 9 weeks so I have to let them pin now. Thank you!

Monotub with sterilized coir and verm sub with coir casing should be fine. The yields will be much better in the tub.

If you try to fruit a substrate before its fully colonized you’ll loose it all to contams especially if you are in a house prone to molds and mildew already. Let it fully colonize, doesn’t really matter how long it takes as long as its showing continual growth or any sign of contamination, then cut the top off and put it in a fruiting chamber like a SGFC. Messing with the bag will make it take longer and it won’t fruit if it doesn’t get fresh air with good humidity.

Personally I would break it up in the bag so it will finish colonizing faster. What kind of bag are we looking at? A manure based bag?

Oh its 5lbs of rye and and 5lbs of soil. The rye is completely done, but not the soil. It seems to be kinda slowing down once it reached that soil.

Yeah that’s because once the rye is colonized your supposed to break it up thoroughly throughout the soil so it can all grow together
