Dmt extraction using a glass container with a plastic lid.

Hoping that someone can tell me if its safe to use a glass container with a plastic lid and a rubber seal for STB extraction. I cant seem to find a container with a metal or glass lid. Thank you for your time.

Mason jars should work, might need a couple depending on how much you're extracting but I can get 50 grams into one ( leaving space for my base and naphtha)

Plastic is a no-no, with the basic solution and the solvent and the fact it'll be hitting the lid, unless it's (i think?) HDPE.

I use qt mason jars with ring - can just about get everything in one (i mix h2o + lye in a seperate pyrex jug first) for 50 grams of bark.

I personally use a 1000ml erlenmeyer with a rubber stopper.. the solvent will eat thru the stopper but just don't leave it for touching for too long in between pulls. The taper on the flask makes it alot easier to pull solvent.

I use a glass flagon with a cork. Corks can be had in whatever size you need for cheap at Wigetco. They tend to get eaten after 4 or 5 extractions, no biggie.  :thumbup:

That was my concern is that i couldnt fit everything in a quart container. So youre saying that 50g mhrb, 50g naoh, and 50 ml naptha fit in a quart size jar? I just want to clarify. My plan was to lower the Mounts to compensate for the lack of volume in the quart jar.

If you guys arent worried about the rubber or cork entering your dmt, then why worry about plastic? Is there something im missing?

Rubber is a no no.

Your ingredients will easily fit in a quart jar. You could double the amount of bark and still have plenty of room. I use a 2L bottle to do 200g extractions with no issues.
