I use a french press, or a drip thing you sit on top of a cup but sometimes I make cowboy coffee in a pot. Depends on how much thinking I put behind the trip.

This is the stove I use Solo canoeing and for hiking. It has a water jacket in the upper part and heats the water as fast as any fueled stove. I use a pot on top after the stove has boiled the water to make coffee from grounds.

Folgers has coffee that’s packaged like tea bags. Just add boiling water.

Went stoveless for the Oregon section of the PCT last summer. Starbucks via Columbian was my go to. Mixes with cold water and tastes great with a breakfast bowl! Costco is were I get them.

I'm also very weight conscious when backpacking and use the Starbucks Via packets. Good tasting instant coffee. My backpacking breakfast is two packets of oatmeal, bacon that I cooked at home, a cup of coffee with 1 or 2 packets of via, and a clif bar that I'll eat while hiking. I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone heating up water for the oatmeal and coffee. I like to wake up start water heating up, tear down camp, eat and be out of camp within one hour of waking up. I don't brew coffee while backpacking because the equipment is something extra that I have to clean and carry.
If I'm car camping I'll bring pour over or a french press.

You should try one of the many freeze dried brands of instant coffee out there. It’ll cost you 1/100 of the price of the Starbucks instant coffee and some of the brands are equal or better than the Starbucks singles. My current favorite brand is Yuaccano

Can you post a link to that brand? I tried googling and nothing came up.
I generally like the starbucks packets because they're easy to find. I know I can find them at Winco when I'm buying bulk peanut M&M, trail mix, sourpatch kids, and a big bag of old trapper beef jerky. Their bulk section is amazing and great when I'm building out my meals for a trip.

This stuff. I think I might have misspelled it the first time. I get it from my local grocer who sells alll sorts of imported stuff. You can also get it on amazon. A $6 jar lasts me about 3-4 weeks and I have at least 1, 12 oz cup a day before I leave for work. And typically 2 cups on the weekends.
I’ve also tried Cafe Caribe and Juan Valdez. Both are decent but I like this brand better.

On my recent camping trip I took my 12 cup percolator and my 42oz thermos. It was good to have a hot cup at night while dinner was cooking and coffee that only needed to be warmed when I woke up. Invaluable at winter camp.
Haven't used it for tea. I don't drink much tea. But on the note of tea before I got my fire perc I used to buy Folgers or Maxwell house coffee in tea bags. You can find them on Amazon. You just steep it like tea.
You can also buy or make tea bags. Make sure the coffee is very finely ground though.

I will say this though, line the entire basket with two coffee filters, one on top and one on bottom. If you have a boilover...and it will happen, that will save you from having grounds in your coffee.

My sister hooked me up with some Cafe Bustelo ground espresso coffee as well as a French press. It’s wonderful and easy. Cheap too.
I hate the thought of bringing extra gear for my next backpacking trip but this thing really does weigh next to nothing and it’s just so damn good. And it’s hallowed out so I could always stuff shit into it while in transport to save on room.
Flying to NoCal in 18 days for a lil 3 night backpacking trip through SEKI. Soooooooooooooooooooooooo stoooooooookkkkkkkkkkeeedd!!!!
