 First spawn and first experience story

So as this story goes, I have always enjoyed psychedelics back in the 90's during high school. Only experience was really with LSD during those times. First time I took liquid LSD in a club my eyes started fading to black from light sensitivity like if you looked at the sun. The strobe lights and lasers in the club were leaving those black marks in my vision so I decided to leave. Outside I experienced my first tracing effects and seen what looked like my friend running down the street scream "Get away from me devil!". It was sort of a bad trip but soon after I graduated and took a break. Years later I got my live together with a healthy income and a place of my own and always wanted to take mushrooms. A friend of mine who is really into DMT had got some mushrooms and I ate 6 of these small mushrooms. It took about an hour to hit me and I was so alert. My social skills were on point and I felt like I was on top of every conversation understanding everything and not getting lost like I sometimes do. They soon left and I put on some chill Pink Floyd in my bathroom while I took a shower. (I heard that was a good time tripping on mushrooms) It was the best shower too. When I closed my eyes to wash my hair I seen faint visuals of like a repeating tribal tattoo. I was so amazed I didn't want to open my eyes. After I thought to myself "Why have I waited this long for mushrooms to enter my life?"
Two months later and I'm waiting on my grains to fully colonize. I feel that my life is in a really good stress free place right now that is perfect for psychedelics. I started doing my research and ordered some sterile milo grain bags, then my first syringes.
Inoculated them in my grain bags and waited 3 weeks for them to get 70-80% colonized.
Broke them up and mixed by spinning the bags just 3 days ago.
I plan to use fine coco coir and fine vermiculite. My friend keeps telling me I need to add nutrients so I'm looking into worm castings and gypsum to be added in small amounts to the bulk substrate when it becomes time to.

Bitchin'. When they fully colonize i wud suggest spawning to a tub with coir/verm via the bucket tek.
No need to use worm stuffs or even gypsum. Fungus does break down coir for nutes. However there is plenty of nutes in that grain.

Well I was looking into gypsum to help the PH levels. My friend was saying that the N would make them more potent but I was disagreeing with him. Does the N from worm castings or chicken droppings make them more potent?

The popular opinion is that genetics decide potancy and coir is all thats needed for cubes. Good luck!

Any tips on type of coco? I didn't get the bricks that were at the store I got a bag of loose fine coco.

Looking awesome. Those syringes are BLACK with spores! The ones I got looked almost clear.
May have to try a different source

It seems as though my growth has stalled after breaking them up and mixing the bag. Should I just move them over to colonize my bulk substrate or wait longer?
It's been 4 weeks, 1 week after breaking and shaking.

There's plenty of spores in a clear syringe. Way more than you need.
Forath, that looks very bacterial. I'm not sure if it's salvagable.

Yeah that may be bacterial. Lottla watter in there. Happens to me a lot though and i havent had much of a problem yet. I mean, there is bacteria and shit everywhere, ya know?.
Sure, i'd spawn it, why not. Jst keep in mind that it may be fucked somehow...or it may be rad idk lol

I think my problem was that the milo grain bags came pre-hydrated but I had to order the spores because my hook-up fell through. I thought maybe the bags dried out a bit so I added 6ml to each since they came with a huge 12ml syringe and I didn't want to reuse one. Next time I'll stick to 4ml like the guide said. I may have added too much moisture with 6ml.

Ok I spawned it to my bucket pasteurized boiling water 14g dry weight coco and 8g dry weight verm. Got it to field capacity. *crosses fingers*

I been reading and lurking for couple weeks. I have heard good story’s about shrooms. I went on long motorcycle ride last summer and almost got heat stroke. Ever since I seem to get panic attacks and just don’t think like I did. That’s sole reason I want get into this hobby.

Looks like they coming to life again! I'm seeing some mycelium in my bin.
I'm still crossing my fingers that the bacteria that stalled it in the bag won't stall this.
I inoculated 2 more bags thinking my colonizing would fail but right after I noticed these white fuzzies.

I spawned me a shite tub this morn with the left over jars that didnt colonize well or looked dodgy. I thnk about 6qts.

Oh haha uhh where do i knw that from...oh yeah! Alice in Wonderland, the Disney adaptation. Their little fuzzy headed critters whose fuzzy head pops outta the ground before they jump up and run off in a hurry as a group.

Well my first attempt failed. I'd like to hear some input on why. First I noticed my grain bags stalled and I had little hopes to begin with when I decided to spawn it for the experience. I noticed the mycelium didn't really colonize the coir. It just kept getting bigger around each grain. I then noticed a gray spider web substance that had me look into spider web mold. I also noticed a small green portion of mycelium. The next day it was all light green and I threw it out. No pictures because I was disappointed.
