Calcium hydroxide/pickling lime, useful for pasteurization?

Got 1 lb for 2.47$ and used 2grams per liter of boiling water. Did I do it right? I’m following a 40:60 ratio hwfp/water as well.

I'm not sure I did it right but I used a one lb bag from WM in a 55 gallon drum. Seemed to pasteurize my straw. I believe I was supposed to only use 300 grams though not the full lb.

Use heat don't use lime
I spoke to a farmer that had to lose over 400 bags before he just sticket with heat pasteurizing

I used boiling calcium hydroxide water (13.5g/1.8gallons water/10lbs sub)
