Is this myc or cobweb
    #25942512 - 04/18/19 09:24 PM (5 years, 8 months ago)

I keep ending up contaminated, I believe. I'm new to this somewhat, have done everything I possibly can to keep things sterile and germ free and haven't grown a damn thing in 3 months.. I would love to believe that this is beautiful mycelium but I have a bad feeling it's not. Can someone maybe give me more of a professional guess. I appreciate your guys' help

Also, this is a reused post from before. I can't figure out how to start a new one so I just edited my old one. This will explain why some of the replies might not pertain to this

Also, this is a reused post because for some reason I can't figure out how to simply start a new thread... Which will explain why none of the replies pertain to this

I don't know what agar is but I haven't gone from syringe for awhile. The one time I got something good, I kept the water from when I soaked the bag and it worked the first time I did it and has done nothing but fail since. I keep all the water I pour out of the grain bags in Ziploc baggies in a mini fridge, let them sit out at room temp, the day before I inoculate and use a baby Tylenol type syringe, (no needle) and Bam, 6 days later, fucking mold!! I just refuse to spend $20 a syringe to get 2 out of 4 to work that yield maybe a half ounce each. 6 months into this bitch, multiple tries and hundreds of dollars later, I've literally grown maybe an ounce. All because I got tired of hearing "I can get them" but nobody can get them. I get it now though, these things are a mother fucker to grow.

It's not too hard. Especially after you learn what agar is and how to use it. You should look into that and give it a try. Might just open up a whole new world of possibilities for ya. Bods easy AF agar write-up is a good place to start the learning journey. Good luck bro.

If you choose to start over we will be happy to help you along.

With shrooms, it's best to follow a tek to the damn T. Like PF Tek.
However, if you do not wish to use a syringe from a vendor than you must include agar, spores, a SAB/flowhood, grain, coco coir, and a pressure canner in the process. Sounds crazy but it's actully pretty fucking cool.

Agar is a vegan gelatin substitute that comes from seaweed i thnk. You jst mix some shit up and pressure cook it for a while then pour some petri dishes in a SAB. SAB stands for still air box and it's where the sterile work is done. Mine is a clear tub with arm holes hot-knifed into the side. Simple shit dude.
B4 you know it you'll have shrooms for days!
