really? so I'm guessing Trich has a short life once it's dead it's gone, unlike a spore's for example.

The beautiful thing about shoeboxes is they fit in the dishwasher. If I'm paranoid, I'll wipe them down with a Clorox wipe as well, but between those two things I'm guessing they're cleaner than when I got them afterward. (But as always, if I'm wrong here, I'd be happy to have someone say so.)

cant really see but the stains are there...but as long as you hose it out it's going to be fine .. dont over think


Well think about it we spawn in open air and there are tons of mold spores and everything else floating around .. the tubs dont really need to be sparkling ... I usually hose the spray with a bleach solution and wipe with a  paper towel but its unnecessary

That sound good, What the dimensions of your shoe box?... not that i have a dishwasher, but it's on the to do list haha.

Read the making shoeboxes thread. Everything you need is in there. But basically it's just like making any other tub except you use a smaller container (6 qt shoebox is a standard thing) and don't have to make any holes (shoeboxes are designed to have some air circulation already). When the mushrooms start growing, either put another shoebox on top instead on the lid (a "dub-tub") or use a plastic bag (see Bod's tek on that) to give them more room to grow. Super simple.
