I used a Poor Mans Pod with excellent results & absolutely no maintenance or fanning but there is a conspiracy here to rid the site from the perect fruiting chamber.

You use 2-3 inches of water with 4 inches of lava rock with a air pump and two air stones.

Averaged 15grams per cake consistently for me.

Sorry but when it comes to cakes there's one that I love to brag about
Lol:lol:
Where I got 350g from a cake wet(first harvest one normal cake used as spawn)

You use 3-4 inches of substrate and let it sit. I averaged 100+ dry grams first flush...
Sorry bro I had too lol I couldn’t resist :rofl2:

How many electric outlets do you need for the PMP "no maintenence"?
The Humidity Chamber doesn't require electricity and you don't need to refill humidifiers or anything.
Maybe we have different views on what is "no maintenence"?

I would just recommend canning the fan and heater, especially if temp is fine anyway.

Let's try to come up with as many electrical devices to incorporate into a growing area as possible.
You know for that 'greater potency' and to feel Profesional.

I mean how the hell is your fruiting chamber suppose to even work if you don't have electric cables going everywhere?

Did you know playing thunder sounds or a variety of music increases the rate of mycelial growth and fruit body productivity in the grey oyster mushroom. 75db every 5 days for a few minutes showed the most increase

When you're growing skills are that advanced that you need musical supplement to improve results :lmafo:

Maybe try focusing on producing clean spawn instead of sending personal attacks via pm just because you're feelings are hurt?
Acting like a complete fool will get you nowhere and I already told you several times I'll help you out any time in threads and in pm if you're interested in hearing what someone with more experience has to say. Just change the attitude and you'll get more help from everyone

@Geinstein:
>Did you case your sub?
I would case a sub like that

There is a casing layer - vermiculite and coir mix.

This said I think I should go for a thicker substrate in future.

Funnily enough, I put another light in today!

The micropore tapes doesn't seem to have been a very good suggestion - it;s falling off every hole on every tube!

Would the best idea be to switch back to polyfil quick?

Just go back to polyfil like you had it from the beginning. There was no reason to take it out on the first place.
If your grow area is around 20C then you don't need the heater

Also don't isolate the fruiting chambers away from the air movement in the area by
hiding them in that shelf/cabin. Let them be exposed to free air on all sides!
How big is the room you're fruiting in?

And for future reference, don't just jump on an advice a brand new account gives you,
especially if the advice is contested by several other more experienced growers.
And also IMO most new accounts here who are reading threads daily quickly pick up on what is good and what is bad advice and thus themselves give out great advice, just be a little wary of very old threads and very new accounts.

Thanks for this reply.

The ambient temperature here at the moment goes between 12 and 14 degrees, sometimes lower.
I think that's too cold?

I have had good results in there before but my last tub was all aborts - I think that's because it dried out due to having a hot fan on by accident.
We live and learn and all that...

(love the profile pic btw)
