Weak mycelium or cobweb/mold???
    #25902036 - 03/28/19 12:38 PM (5 years, 9 months ago)

I can't seem to be able to tell whether it's just weak mycelium growth or cobweb took over in colonization.  Can someone help???  Much thanks.

I'm not saying thats myc for sure, but I had myc that looked very very similiar and wow was that a slow colonizer took 5 weeks to colonize a half pint jar.

These are about 10 days with Liquid Inoculation.  When I shakes it, it feels pretty solid, the grains have been bind together already.  Maybe just weak mycelium because it's two strains combined with one several years spore, and the other 8 years spore

Bang the jar hard against a shoe so it break the grains up..Mycelium isn't usually that hairy. Once you've shaken it smell it through the filter and see if it smells like mushroom

Did you test the Liquid Culture on agar prior to use?

It was direct syringe inoculation via spores... but I did make grain to agar transfer.  It looks white though very fluffy.

The PF tek cakes came out very abnormal, almost like mutation white mycelium no fruiting after 10+ days.  Might be spore degradation if there's such thing or possible contamination.

It has been about 2 weeks.  I figure it's some sort of mold or mutation as well...  This is a different plate with the same source in a better lighting.

Yes... but something really strange happened and over 10+ days never went into fruiting.  They look deformed (from separate cakes with same spores).

Looks like some bacteria, and having been too wet..how much have you been misting?

Been incognito for some days... Thanks for pointing that out.  I have been adjusting but on average misting every other hour via humidifier.  It seems to me, yes, the real issue being that it's some sort of foreign takeover.  The first time seeing the abnormal growth, but being completely white, initially I thought it was mycelium.

Yeah you've been growing a mold and myc. That is definitely a fungus. Even in the first post, the 3rd pic definitely shows 2 different fungi growing there.

Thanks for clarifying.  Now it makes sense looking back at the pics, the fluffy hairy growth was a big warning sign
