    #2593962 - 04/23/04 08:58 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Has anyone tried this technique http://www.sporelab.com/shroomwi.htm

It just looks I dunno funny after looking at the posts posted here. Especially the part about not using p. cooker. Thanks for any help offered.

You dont need a pressure cooker,Although it is better to use one,boiling/steaming works fine, but dont use that tek,use this one.

"These jars are placed in a covered pot of boiling water until sterile (about 45 minutes). "
I pressure cook 1/2 pint jars longer than that, and he's using pints.
I wouldn't suggest trying his process. Like you said, just look at all the thousands of posts from hundreds of people who believe otherwise. To risky, IMO.

A PC is not necessary when using verm/BRF{ I boil for 1 hr.} Most teks use2/1ratio, not3/1.Also,less chance of contam if you innoc thru small holes you make in the lids before boiling. See PF tec- it worked well for my dog first time

I've done jars with no precautions: no pc, no steaming jars. I simply boiled the substrate(brf) scooped it into the jars with a spoon, and then incubated in a closet with a pot of boiled water placed in the bottom shelf for heat every once in a while. Half the jars contamed, half fruited. The point is most anything will *work* it just comes down to how much of a success rate you want.
