So its getting warmer now. These cakes are on there 2nd flush and the pinsets are coming on strong however I notice quite a few prematurely opening or even the caps completely peeling off? Has anyone seen/know the cause? I had a couple golden teacher cakes start this and I realized I was over fanning and watering so I completely cut it down to only once or twice a day to boost humidity levels and just leave it alone throughout the day. But these chitwans are doing it as well these

They look like the could be alittle too wet or it's just a mutant growing how its crazy Gene's want. If your FC is made right you shouldnt need to fan at all just mist every now and then when it's looking on the dry side. 'fanning' is only really used after a mist to get the excess mist in the air to go onto the surface.

Thank you for your reply.my chamber im using an aquar heater/air stone combo. No perilite or verm base and its a little smaller than usual sgfc size.im thinking maybe just leaving the lid a half inch open to help things breathe to bring that moisture down

It does look pretty damn wet.
Leaving lid open miight help but I honestly have no experience with type of fruiting chamber you're using
Why did you forego the SFGC design?

I like to keep things simple and semi covert just in case I have to clean up quick. I also live abroad so trying to find things like perilite can be difficult.

So I guess tbese are "mutants" I was really worried as most would prematurely open but I let a few still grow and this is how they turned out. Interesting

looks like some caps went all weird from over-misting
