Different colour caps (Golden Teacher)

hello hello hello! So, the guys on the following picture took a long time to grow and the following picture was taken 21 days since the beginning:

As you can see a lot of time and not that many friends.
Now I had to leave my house for another 3 days, which I thought it would be fine since I wasn't that worried about picking them at the perfect time.
Which brings us to today, 24 days since the cake was left in this box ready to grow, and this new fellas joined the party in the 3 days I was away:

I dont mind them since the bigger the party the happier I am. My only two concerns are that they have a redish cap different from the others, and the previous friends appear to have completly stoped their growth having only just a few slightly broken their veils.
have you guys seen this before?

So, just to get it out of the way, don't buy kits in the future, it's really hard to fix them when you do something wrong.
I'm pretty sure you soaked those mushrooms based on the shape of those caps. The bottom set of pictures looks like the mycelium has started to take back those fuzzy lighter colored mushrooms.
The fuzzy/moldy looking ones are likely all aborts and dead. Pretty weird to see this happen.
I'd wait for someone else with more kit experience to answer before doing anything drastic.

Yeah those are definitely aborting. Probably from poor conditions. I’d pick them, dunk the cake and provide better conditions

I put them on top of a brick Inside of a box and 3 fingers of water below.

Thank you for the advise and answers my friends.
About the aborts, whats the problem with them? they are not safe to eat or they just dont have the active component?

They aborted their grow. They're just "dead" and being reclaimed by mycelium. They should still be active unless you grew bunk mushrooms. Probably not as potent as they were when they died, but they should still be active.

I’m sure the potency will be just fine. U need to build a SGFC or a humidity chamber to fruit that properly. Here you go https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20195542#20195542

Those don't look like aborts to me. Aborts usually have more of a greyish dark.
