I just got a scalpel like that, first time I've used one and wasn't sure what way to put the blade on. Ended up doing it exactly like that.

I confess last night while tripping, I realized deep down to my core that I have been doing muti spore all winter and will be more happy going back to clones. :clone:

Had a change of heart: I've been touting ms cakes for outdoor species lately but two of the shoeboxes i spawned cakes to bulk in contammed and I instantly changed attitudes. 'Fuck this, never again, back to agar'

I wish I could give credit to where it's due on this one. Wherever I read about smacking the bottom of a grain jar on your hand to move wedges to the bottom is a fucking genius. I've been doing it for probably 6 months and I'm still in awe every time I do it. It's like magic.

I figured this one out on accident on my own about 3 months ago. I feel like this should be heralded more here lol.

Found a wonderful way to get the wedge were ya want after fracturing a jar slaming on the table when it would stick doing that.
I'm no pencil prodigy so bear with my picture. :lmafo:

When the wedge is resting on top. Tilt the jar on it's side allowing the grain to get between the wedge and the lid so the wedge doesn't stick on the lid or side.

Then turn it upside down and keep turning in the same direction until it's on the opposite side.

Then carefully tilt the jar slightly twisting toward and away allowing gravity to do its magic until you have it in the middle or your desired spot then roll it over so the grain is on top and the wedge is on the bottom.
Finally, turn your jar upright.
:yourewelcome:

Turns 3 to 5 mins and a headache into a 15 second motion. I used to hate trying to get the wedge almost were I wanted it. Now it's my favorite part letting physics do the work rather than brute force.

That's exactly the motio. I use.  It puts the agar near the bottom and touching the glass

I confess, I dropped a plate directly after transfer and decided to keep it. Funny enough, you can see via mycelial growth exactly where the transferred wedge had repeatedly bounced off the agar before sticking to the roof of the plate.

A visual representation of how my week is going.

I confess I don’t really drink, but I made beer agar last night the beer ended up in my stomach and head, the agar ended up in clumps still dry in the dishes, no clue how much lme was put in... my glass no pours stuck to the counter top... I also confess my neighbors are insane and just threw a rock through their windshield.

I confess I just knocked over a stack of plates while pouring. 14 of the cunts (saved 6).

FUCK man, that sucks. I was opening a plate to transfer from the other night and when I grabbed it I didn't grab the bottom well enough and *PLOP* if fell right out, flipped over and landed on the rim of one of my jars... I said fuck it and transferred anyways, avoiding the part that hit the jar... sigh.

Whelp... mold :'( Sad day. Woke up this morning to some green colonized grains.

Learning moment of this story. Only the jars with agar from this plate I dropped went green. That means I had jars covered in mold spores (the agar landed on the rim of a jar) sitting in my SAB and I successfully did all my work still w/o contam. I knew when I transferred this particular plate that it was a toss-up of what would happen (even avoiding the affected areas of agar), and this was for sure a possibility, but knowing I had mold-spore-covered jars up in my SAB without issues showed me how damn amazing these things are for mycology.

:awedance:

I confess, I had less faith in my SAB before I had this contam issue.
