Looks like Auricularia auricula

The species name might be different/changed, but it definitely looks like a wood ear

The first one looks like Ascotremella faginea. The second one, I'm not sure, but looks like some bug eaten Auricularia auricula-judae.

yeah the black seems to be Exidia glandulosa and the brown looks like Auricularia. when i originally found them the were on logs that were pretty close to each other so i thought they might have been same species different colors. but now after studying my pics and looking around online the top one looks like Exidia and bottom Auricularia.

I guess being in West Virginia and Ireland are different? Maybe the same? Am I confused?

Are you talking about the Ascotremella faginea? I don't believe it was ever called 'Tramella'. Synonyms include Haematomyces fagineus, and Neobulgaria faginea.

yes i was talking about Ascotremella. the Ascotremella seems to be more burgundy color and what i found seemed more brown colored like Exidia glandulosa.

cool thanks for the info. the little brown ones in the second pic seem to be just starting out guess i'll have to wait till they get bigger before i can i'd them. this was my first time ever coming across jelly fungi pretty crazy looking stuff. this is my first spring i get to explore the Appalachian's. lots of cool plants and fungi ive never seen before.
