I have 7 different varieties all ms I am going to be running these bags for a while while I test and maybe if they produce well I'll just continue.. I figure if I can get a good culture to push atleast 2 zips per bag I'll run them .. I get 4 bags but could stuff 5 but wanna leave room for growth in my 66qt tubs...
That was liloldmes write up on the steam box I followed .. it's legit I would run 16 bags of hpoo back before I left it takes a stay to properly pasteurize that much poo

Those bags looks good to me the uncolonized grain usually is signs of bacteria but I think it's just the bags is really wet the other one seems good are you running oats ? They will make the myc light looking like that

No, I'm using rye. I've failed with oats and got my bird seeds overcooked. I'm kinda like "stick to what works," though only 2 out of 5 bags survived. Got 4 more in their 6th day after inoc.

Oh ok I havent ever used it .. try wheat I love wheat man soak for 24 hours or boil till hydrated not long at all ... the myc loves it

Wheat actually worked for me every time! I just began growing again after a 1.5 year hiatus and got a good deal in a reasonably small weight of rye grains. But yeah, I've used wheat successfully too!
When I see these bags are close to 100% I'll open and smell them. It looks bacterial a bit, but the grains are colonizing normally now.

These finished up late last night... myco, I have 2 blue cultures, one from psilo, and the other from yesum.. taking a core sample from the block to agar later tonight as I'm not sure which one this one is, and the block marked the same culture is coming up grey... I've mixed up somewhere 
Ended up with 2 and a half pounds, ate a half pound and sold the 2 ... didn't even cross my mind to clone... Durga Durga!

For sure keep us posted ..good luck hopefully they produce .. how long are you cooking the bags .? I run 4.5 to 6qts in bags and run them for 4.5 hours and in my presto I raise the bags out of the water completely with either pint jars or lid rings doubled up

I've prepped 4.5qts total only measuring 9 pouds approx. in 2 loads. I soaked for a day, boiled for about 20min or less, and, after drainage, dry-steamed it for about 30. I just saw this prepping tek for rye not long ago. I honestly need to look at my logs to see how I fucked up WBS and oats.
I've been lurking here for a while and I'm jealous of you committed growers out there. I want to get back to my manic growing phase, but I just can't right now, so I purchase spores and prep bags... oysh... but thanks! Hope to show fruits some day soon!

I saw that for 2qts more than 60min would not be good for rye, but like I said, I have to see my logs from back when I started, in 2015, to see how I did it. I messed up a lot of jars and moved back to bags where I had more success. Might it have been too little in bags? Or too much?

Thats your problem there is alot of grain there I cook jars for 2 hours at 17 psi I run my bags at 4.5 as stated same psi .. up your cook times that's why you keep having bad bags

4.5 for bags? Maybe I should try a couple again. I was gonna wait to go back to bags until I build a FH, but if I widen the holes of my SAB and raise it up. I could make do. After all I do have a dozen of these MN-APE jars colonizing.

What we're you cooking them at before quirk?
@sabugosa imo/e the only grain that you can get away with 60min is whole grain rice. And that's in jars.
Everything other than liquids gets 90min minimum

I don't know why I didn't see my logs and just went straight to memory (bad hobbyist). I used to do about 5lbs (1lbs/bag) at 100-120mints...
I hope I get away with it, but yeah, that explains a lot!

I ran bags for 3-3.5hr but it could have been dirty spawn to start and I'm sure I was clumsy/dirty in my SAB. I have an impulse sealer. I think I've tried presealing and not.

I run em for 4.5 in my prestos... they come put like so   
Dude buy zip ties I couldn't get my sealer to seal all the time and I started getting zip ties cut alot of time off and frustration along with contams
